Get to know our Tennis Director, Nabil Sorathia

Playing Career: Nabil started playing tennis at the age of 4 and competed throughout his entire youth. He was ranked #1 in the Iowa District of the USTA in both the 14-&-under and 16-&-under age divisions. As a four-year high school prep star for the Sioux City North Stars, Nabil played both #1 singles and doubles all four years (2000-2004). He amassed a high school singles record of 62-19 and was a “Top 8” finisher at the Class 2A Iowa State Tennis Tournament. Nabil played tennis at the collegiate level for Morningside University. He was selected as a three-time all-conference singles player and two-time all-conference doubles player in the Great Plains Athletic Conference. Upon graduation, Nabil held numerous school records at Morningside, and in 2018 was the first tennis player inducted into the school’s athletic Hall of Fame.

Teaching and Coaching Career: Nabil began teaching tennis at the age of 16 and has been certified by the USPTR since 2005. Nabil was the head women’s tennis coach at Briar Cliff University for three years (2009-2012) and spent one season (2018) as head coach of Morningside University’s men’s tennis team. As Tennis Director for Four Seasons Health Club since 2011, Nabil coordinates our tennis program, teaches private and group lessons to all ages and abilities, and has developed and coached numerous regionally-ranked juniors and high school state champions.

Australian Open 2025 concludes with two singles champions crowned after a hard-fought fortnight of tennis.
Madison Keys displayed resilience in her match, becoming the third American woman to lift a grand slam trophy this decade!
Jannik Sinner successfully defended his title, becomes the first Italian man to win three major singles titles, and is now the first man in history to win ten consecutive matches against top-10 ranked players without losing a set.

Two dominating tournament performances from both Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka produced championships for the final grand slam of the year.
This is Aryna's first US Open title, and third overall major championship. This is also the first US Open title for Jannik, becoming the first Italian man to win the major.
Both players book-ended major championships for 2024, winning both the Australian Open and US Open.
