Frequently Asked Questions

"How much does it cost?"
There is a $10 registration fee for each player. This covers the National Dart Association (NDA) sanction fees, as our league is officially sanctioned by the NDA.
Each week, players also pay $5 in board fees, which are put directly into the dartboard before play begins. There are no weekly league fees paid to Siouxland Junior Darts.

"How old does my child have to be?"
There isn't a specific age requirement.
The most important factor is whether your child can stand at the regulation throwing line and consistently hit the dartboard. If they can, they're ready to play!
Safety is our top priority. If a player is not yet able to hit the board consistently, it may not be safe for others around them. In that case, we would encourage them to practice a little longer and join us the following season.

"Can kids with special needs play?"
Absolutely!
Siouxland Junior Darts welcomes players of all abilities, and we'll do everything we can to make participation possible. Every child deserves the opportunity to enjoy the game.
As with all players, safety comes first. If a situation creates a safety concern for the player or those around them, we may need to delay participation until it can be done safely. We'll always work with families to find the best solution possible.

"What if we're really busy and can't make it every Sunday?"
No problem! We know families are busy, and that's why we don't schedule our junior league like most youth sports.
Instead of creating a full season schedule, we make a new schedule every week based on who is available to play.
Here's how it works:
Check your player in by the end of the day on Thursday if they plan to play that Sunday.
Go to the Siouxland Junior Darts page, find that week's check-in post, click the link (It's the same link each week) and then click the players you are checking in for that week.

On Friday or Saturday, we'll create the schedule and post it as a comment on that same Facebook post. You'll see:
Your match time
Which dartboard you'll play on
Your opponent

Since the schedule is posted in the same Facebook thread where you checked in, And it should be pinned to the top of our page.

If your child can't play during one week, that's perfectly okay. There are no make-up matches, and there's no penalty for missing a week. Just check in whenever you're available, and we'll get you on the schedule!

After a LONG day of darts and the last ones standing in the dart hall, we are coming home with TWO South Dakota Junior Dart State Championships in Doubles 01!
A BIG congratulations to Sophie Walker and Kenzie Steele for staying on the winners side and stopping the double dip from happening!
ANOTHER BIG congratulations to James Gatch and BraxsTyn Riedmann for keeping the suspense going and getting the double dip for the championship!

Good morning from our last morning of South Dakota State Junior Darts!

South Dakota State Junior Darts Update: Doubles Cricket finished out Saturday with the highest placement going to Carl Heth and James Gatch in 3rd place.
Kenzie and Casie finish in the $ in the 4th place spot.
Landry and Khalen also finish in 4th place in their bracket.
The blind draw is happening as we speak but most of the kids are cooling off in the pool and living their best lives. 🤘🏼🙌🏻🎯

Our SJD players end the morning of Singles 01 at the South Dakota State Junior Dart Championships with some hardware!
Landry Lyman took the “easy way” to another state championship by staying on the winners side the entire time (as opposed to yesterday when she played the entire time from the losers side of the bracket thanks to BraxsTyn Riedmann 😉😆). But, as fate would have it, BraxsTyn and Landry would meet again today in the championship game! BraxsTyn put up a heck of a battle and ended in 2nd place.
Jericho Gatch threw with the big dogs in level 1, quite successfully, taking home 2nd place!!!
His sister, Autumn McDonald, takes home a third place finish, as well as Carl Heth and Kenzie Steele, each winning third in their levels.

We have some SJD players in Pierre, SD for the South Dakota State Junior Dart Tournament this weekend! With Singles Cricket wrapping up from this morning,
A Great Big Congratulations to Kenzie Steele and Landry Lyman for winning state championships! Kenzie stayed on the winners side all the way through!!! while Landry did the opposite and lost her first match to our own BraxsTyn Riedmann (who placed in the money in 4th) then battled from the left side of the bracket all the way through to double dip for her title. Carl Heth finished with incredible matches in 2nd place with this being his first year in darts and first SD State Tournament!
Proud of everyone that made the trip here and there are still a lot of darts to throw so watch for more updates throughout the weekend! 🙌🏻🤘🏼❤️🎯

An entire week has gone by since our “Monday Funday” at the Lost Islands Amusement Park in Waterloo. Those that stayed had a great time testing the limits of their stomachs, vocal cords, and laughter. Thank you so much to all those that helped get our kids to nationals to not only compete, but to make connections with other kids on and off the dart board! 🫶❤️🎯
