Our final foal of the 2026 season is here…and he decided to make sure the boys weren’t completely outnumbered! 💙
KARAS ALADA PRIDE x HOT GIRLS R MORE FUN
2026 Half Arabian C**t
One of our favorite little details is that he and his full sister from 2025 are almost mirror images of each other. Same markings, same look, except they switched which hind leg got the sock.
As we wrap up this year’s foaling season, we’re reminded that breeding is never without its triumphs and heartbreaks. This season tested us in ways we didn’t expect, but we’re incredibly thankful for the four special foals now on our farm. Every one of them has us excited for the future.
With a smaller foal crop planned for next year, we’re looking forward to slowing down a bit and enjoying watching this group grow and develop.

Foal #3 for the year is another FILLY! 🎀
She decided to grace the world this afternoon instead of waiting for the wee hours of the night, and we’re definitely fans of that!
A beautiful, typey little peanut that we can’t wait to see unfold.

We are incredibly honored to announce the creation of the Jane & June Legacy Scholarship at Rugged Cross Stables.
Named in honor of Courtney’s grandmothers, Alberta Jane Hargens and Lois June Bruget, this scholarship celebrates two women whose love, encouragement, and quiet support helped shape both our family and the heart behind Rugged Cross. They believed in the value of hard work, caring for others, and the special connection between horses and people.
The Jane & June Legacy Scholarship was created with the hope of making horses more accessible to young people who might not otherwise have the opportunity to experience them. Whether through riding lessons, camps, or other equine programs, our goal is to help remove financial barriers so more children can discover the confidence, responsibility, and joy that horses can inspire.
This scholarship was made possible through the incredible generosity of a close family friend who wanted to honor the memory of both of Courtney’s grandmothers. We are deeply grateful for this meaningful gift and excited to see their legacy continue through future generations of riders.
Scholarship applications and eligibility details will be announced soon.
If you would like to contribute to future scholarship opportunities through the Jane & June Legacy Scholarship, we would be honored to have you join us in continuing their legacy.

It’s finally time to introduce everyone to Chance, our first foal of the 2026 season 💙
At the beginning of May, we welcomed this sweet c**t into the world and said goodbye to his mama, Bella, after losing her to complications from birth.
When we left the veterinary clinic after a whirlwind night turned day, emotionally exhausted and unsure of what the future held for this little c**t, my dad sent me a text message:
“What are his chances?”
And just like that, he had a name.
Because at that moment, that’s exactly what he had. A chance.
A chance made possible by the incredible care and dedication of Dr. Lainie at True North Veterinary Health, PLLC, who fought tirelessly for both Bella and Chance. A chance because of the support of our barn family, who showed up for us in ways we will never forget. A chance because so many people prayed, checked in, offered help, and loved this little c**t before they had ever even met him.
There are no words to adequately thank everyone who carried us through those first difficult days. We were humbled by the kindness shown to us, including the incredible generosity of individuals who anonymously covered Bella’s veterinary expenses and cremation.
The grief of losing Bella is still very real. She was loved, and she should be here watching her baby grow. But every day, Chance reminds us that hope can exist alongside heartbreak.
Today, he’s thriving. He’s growing, playing, developing quite the personality, and keeping all of us busy.
So meet Chance.
A little c**t named after a question who became an answer.
An answer that sometimes, a chance is all you need. 💙

Region 10 is a wrap🌹🏆
We headed home with 2 Reserve Championships, numerous Top Five placings, and a week full of great rides and memorable moments. As a young program with many riders who are still gaining experience at this level, we couldn’t be more proud of how our team showed up, worked hard, and represented Rugged Cross Stables throughout the week.
Success isn’t measured only by championships. It’s found in personal bests, newfound confidence, strong partnerships, and the progress made each time a rider enters the ring. We saw plenty of those victories this week.
Congratulations to all of our riders, horses, and families. Thank you for trusting us to be part of your journey. We’re excited to keep building, learning, and growing together as we look ahead to the rest of the season!
