One of the biggest misconceptions in hockey is that deception comes from fancy stickhandling. In reality, the best players create deception with their body long before the puck ever moves.

A weight shift is exactly what it sounds like—moving your center of mass to sell one option while preparing to attack another. When done correctly, it forces defenders to react, opens up passing and skating lanes, and creates time and space.

WATERTOWN CAMP DAY 2!

Continuing to build on our dryland training from yesterday with more stickhandling and footwork practice. Forcing our players to work on moving their hands and feet simultaneously at game speed, just like they would on the ice.

Day 1 in Watertown included a classroom session focused on the importance of positive, clear communication and how it translates to success on and off the ice.
