Huge congratulations to our Sioux Falls Power 18U, 16U, and 15O teams for punching their ticket to the USA Hockey Tier 1 National Tournament! After defeating Team ND in the district playoffs, these teams have officially secured their spot on the national stage.

𝗗𝗥𝗔𝗙𝗧𝗘𝗗 | Caleb Heil Selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning

We’re incredibly proud to celebrate Sioux Falls Power alum Caleb Heil, who was selected 193rd overall by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2025 NHL Draft!

Caleb played two seasons with the Power (2021–2023), where he stood out as a calm, confident presence between the pipes and a leader in the locker room. His dedication and consistency helped lay the foundation for his rise through the USHL and his commitment to the University of North Dakota—one of the top collegiate programs in the country.

This is a major milestone in Caleb’s hockey journey and a proud moment for everyone who’s been part of it. From his time in Sioux Falls to his upcoming career at UND and now being drafted to the NHL, his path is a testament to hard work, resilience, and doing things the right way.

Congratulations to Carter Sanderson on being selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2025 NHL Draft.

Carter spent the 2023–24 season with us under Coach Noelle Needham, where he continued to grow as a player and person. His work ethic, character, and commitment to improvement have always set him apart—and now, he makes history as the first South Dakotan ever drafted to the NHL.

From his roots in Pierre, to his time in Sioux Falls, to the USHL and now the next level—Carter’s journey is one we’re proud to be part of. He’s also committed to continue his career at the University of North Dakota.

Huge congratulations to Aidan Hesse .hesse on being selected in the 13th round, 214th overall, by the Sioux Falls Stampede in the 2025 USHL Phase I Entry Draft! A 2008-born goaltender from Saint Paul, Minnesota, Aidan spent this past season with the Sioux Falls Power 16U, where he showcased his talent and work ethic between the pipes. Excited to see what the future holds as he takes the next step in his hockey journey—way to go, Aidan!

Congratulations to Easton Rooney on being selected in the 12th round, 190th overall, by the Des Moines Buccaneers in the 2025 USHL Phase I Entry Draft! A 2006-born forward from Ham Lake, Minnesota, Easton played this past season with the Sioux Falls Power 18U, where he stood out with his drive, physicality, and offensive instincts. Big things ahead—way to go, Easton!

Big congratulations to Finn Spehar on being selected in the 12th round, 172nd overall, by the Fargo Force in the 2025 USHL Phase I Entry Draft! A 2009-born forward from Minnetonka, Minnesota, Finn played this past season with the Sioux Falls Power 16U, where he impressed with his skill, speed, and compete level. An exciting next step for a dynamic young player—well done, Finn!

Huge shoutout to Tyler Potter on being selected in the 3rd round, 44th overall, by the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders in the 2025 USHL Phase I Entry Draft! A 2009-born forward from Emily, Minnesota, Tyler spent this past season with the Sioux Falls Power 15O, where his high-end skill, vision, and compete level made a major impact. A big-time moment for a rising talent—congrats, Tyler!

BREAKING: Easton Johnson is NTDP bound!

From the Sioux Falls Power program to the national stage — Easton Johnson has been selected to join the USA Hockey National Team Development Program (NTDP)!

Regarded as one of the top ’09 defensemen in the country, Easton had a dominant season with Sioux Falls Power 16U team.

We couldn’t be more proud to see Easton take this next step in his development and represent his country.
