We are an all volunteer Dive Team that may be called out to a scene by text message 24 hours a day seven days a week. Responding to the scene from anywhere, the Team equipment trailer is delivered for us by the Rescue Squad. We perform recoveries of vehicles (boats, cars, and ATV's.) Additionally, we perform body and evidence recoveries assisting/supporting local law enforcement. Our most public functions are assisting with the Sioux Falls and Brandon Polar Plunge events, where we assist jumpers in the very cold water to the exit. Assisting the South Dakota Game Fish and Parks with installing and removing the Swim Beach Buoys at Wall Lake, is another example of our community involvement. This process is very helpful training for us, as we use search techniques in locating pins in the bottom and using hand tools to attach and remove the buoys from the pins. The MCEM Dive Team meets every second Thursday of the month at the Emergency Management Building. During the winter months our meeting starts at 19:00 hrs. and during the summer at 18:00 hrs.
