Here is Nathan Bowers, our 12-GA Champion from the recent SD/WY Challenge shoot at the Pete Lien and Sins Shooting Sports Complex near Rapid City. Nathan won the competition shooting 98 out of 100. Congratulations! Good luck at the upcoming USA Clay Target League tournament at Aberdeen in June!

Morning Flight is two event shoot consisting of a 12-GA event and a Doubles event. It will be held Saturday, June 20, 2026 at the Mitchell Gun Club at Mitchell, SD. Events will be run concurrently with field #1 used for the 12-GA event and field #2 used for the Doubles Event.

Congratulations to to Nathan Bowers of Belle Fourche our 12-gauge champ who shot 98 and Runner-up, Nathan List of Yankton.

In the 20-gauge event the Champion was Roger Plooster of Sioux Falls shooting 95 and Runner-up Nathan List of Yankton with 93.

HOA (High Over All) was determined by doubles shoot-off from 3, 4 & 5, as the scores were tied at 190/200. Champion was Nathan List of Yankton and Runner-up Roger Plooster of Sioux Falls.

Champions and Runner-ups for all three events will receive a plaque. Champions for the 12 and 20-gauge events will also receive $75 in gift cards from Scheels. Runner-ups in the 12 and 20-gauge events will receive a $50 gift card from Scheels.

Great S***t shoot at the Pete Lien & Sons Shooting Sports complex today. All in all sixty guns were represented today with all three s***t fields being utilized. Results should be posted soon. High overall champion went to Nathan List of Yankton who won by shoot off with Roger Plooster. Both shooters scored 190 out of 200 in the HOA event.

First of all, a big thanks to Kevin Bertalot and all the people at Dakota Discount RV for allowing us use of this toy hauler which will serve as our office for tomorrow’s South Dakota - Wyoming challenge S***t tournament at the new Pete Lien & Sons Shooting Sports Complex.

Work is progressing at the Presho Gun Club at Presho, SD. Presho is adding a second combination s***t and trap field to help facilitate their robust USA Clay Target League team. The Presho club is a bit unique as it is owned by the city, so shooting is free. You just need to bring your own targets. Great job Stowe!

One of South Dakota’s new S***t fields nearing completion. This is the Oacoma Gun Club just across the river from Chamberlain. The Oacoma club has two trap fields and is adding there first S***t field. Just waiting for the Trap machines to arrive! Great job Cash.

The National Director Election ballots were sent out today by the NSSA. I would encourage all NSSA memebrs to cast their vote. With our current memebership numbers, South Dakota is allowed one National Director. The National directors are responsible for rule changes and the direction or the NSSA. The National Director for South Dakota also serves as a director on our state association board. Although only a year old, the true impact of our state associaiton goes back about three years. In that time we have grown from 27 NSSA members to currently 34 paid memebrs and nearly 25 other who have yet to pay their dues. We have grown from 2,700 registered targets to 26,400 last year. Eleven public gun clubs with offer s***t on 14 fields to now 14 clubs with a total of 23 s***t fields. On the private or semi-private side at least one field has been added. WIth the USA Clay Target league youth teams we have gone from something liek 12 to now 15 schools participating in S***t. Lets keep it growing!
