At Black Butte Stables our mission is to provide you – our customer – with the best possible experience. But we can never compromise the loving care for our horses as we strive to reach our mission. One of the most difficult parts of our job is matching riders to horses, in both weight and relative horse-back experience, to ensure that we can accomplish both parts of our mission and to ensure your safety, we have adopted a weight restriction of 225 pounds. Born to go in line

Please avoid petting the horses over the fence! It’s incredibly dangerous for the horses to loose respect of that boundary the barbed wire fence is critical for keeping the horse safely contained but it is also very sharp and can cause serious injury when horses start pushing on each other and pawing at fence to get pets or treats. PLEASE refrain from feeding and petting the horses in the meadow!
