Hunter/Jumper training and showing specializing in meeting horses and riders individual needs.

Alicia has been riding since she was 4 years old and has over 40 years of show experience in hunters, jumpers and equitation. During Alicia's career as a junior, she qualified and showed at Devon, Harrisburg and Washington. Alicia performs her training services in Lebanon, NJ where she runs a successful training program tailored to suit each unique horse and rider team. Alicia primarily trains students who compete in hunters and jumpers. Occasionally, she assists students who participate in other disciplines and is able to apply her training techniques accordingly. Alicia believes that a positive, safe and happy environment is key to a productive training program. She enjoys working with young and green horses and has provided many young horses a solid foundation for a successful show career. As a professional, Alicia has competed at the highest levels of our sport in both the hunter and jumper rings.

Smoke from the Canadian wildfires has moved into our area, causing poor air quality for a few days. The tiny particles in the air can irritate your horse’s respiratory system.

When air quality is poor:
• Limit or avoid strenuous exercise, especially for horses with asthma (heaves), inflammatory airway disease, or other respiratory conditions.
• Ensure horses have constant access to fresh water.
• Watch for coughing, nasal discharge, increased respiratory rate or effort, flared nostrils, or decreased performance.

A good rule of thumb: If the air quality is unhealthy for you, it’s unhealthy for your horse too. Giving them a day or two off from intense work while air quality improves is a simple way to protect their lungs.

Stay safe, and don’t hesitate to reach out to your veterinarian if your horse develops respiratory signs or appears to be struggling.
