In today's teachings with Dr. Omanand Guruji, we continued with Vibhuti Pada, and Guruji encouraged us to refamiliarize ourselves with sutra 1:33 as well.
Where might you apply this in your own life?

Our trip to the Paramanand Institute of Yoga Science and Research,India is scheduled for December.

Spend the Autumn Equinox at Sat Manav Yoga Ashram!

After many months of transformation, we are welcoming the public to experience the Ashram once again!

The equinox is a time of stillness and transition, the turning point of the sun's movement with profound effects on the natural world. Humanity has turned away from this rhythm--but this is an opportunity to come closer to our natural purpose.

Join us for a day of stillness, nourishment, fellowship, selfless service, and much more...

Why does the body change when the season does?

In the yogic tradition, the body is not separate from the world it moves through. It is an open system, reading and responding to what is around it, the same way the atmosphere itself expands and contracts through the year.

A few of the mechanisms behind that, explored in this week's carousel:

Atmospheric Prana Rhythms — life force moves outward in spring and summer, inward in autumn and winter. Working against that rhythm is what produces fatigue.

Swara Yoga & Autonomic Control — nostril dominance alternates to regulate internal heat, building Agni in the cold and cooling the system in the heat.

Tridosha Fluctuations, or Ritucharya — Vata, Kapha, and Pitta each rise as the elements outside shift.

Alignment Practices — specific pranayama, diet, and shatkarma that keep the nervous system able to sense and adjust to the world around it.

Yatha Pinde Tatha Brahmande: as is the microcosm, so is the macrocosm.

This is the kind of study our 300- and 500-hour training is built on — not a weekend certificate, but a living relationship with the practice, taught within the Paramanand lineage. We are currently accepting applications for late fall enrollment and for our winter pilgrimage to the ashram in India.
