Bravo Dancers - What a beautiful Gala production last weekend! 💐 The compliments are still flooding in! Several people even reached out to us with photos from their Ballet past - first pointe shoes, backstage candids - and we'd love to see more! Senior Spotlight: Addison Killian 🩰

Addison has been with Southern Youth Ballet for 11 years, as an apprentice for many of those years. Her favorite memory from ballet is her roll in “Spanish” in The Nutcracker. Addison recently graduated from Slidell High, with honors, in the top 10% of her class. She was in The National Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta, amongst other clubs. She will be attending Loyola in the fall, majoring in Nursing. Her goal is to become a CRNA.

Congratulations Addison! We can’t wait to follow you in your next chapter and welcome you home to the SYB stage. 💞

Senior Spotlight: Avery Hanrahan 🩰

Avery has been dancing at Southern Youth Ballet for 3 years, but she has danced for 15 years in total. In her time at SYB, she has played many star roles such as Clara, Snow Queen, and Sugar plum in the Nutcracker! Her favorite role was getting to play Clara because as a little girl she had always dreamed of being Clara! Avery has graduated from Mount Carmel Academy where she was in 6 clubs! She was given the award of Magna Cum Laude for her high GPA and was recognized for being a member of the National Honor Society Club! In the fall Avery will attend LSU where she has already been awarded scholarships! She is majoring in Pre Nursing with the hope of becoming a CRNA in the future!!

Congratulations Avery! We look forward to following you on your journey and welcoming you back to the SYB stage. 💞
