⏱️ Qualifying : 9th out of 30
🚦 Heat: Start 3rd / Finish 4th
🏁 Feature: Start 9th / Finish 11th

We brought our highs & lows from WIR back with us this weekend at DRP.

We were hoping this was a chance to get back towards the front after we won the season opener at the Dells a few months back and have struggled bad ever since.

Mechanical issues in first practice sidelined us for the session. This cost us some opportunities to make adjustments and put us in the first group for qualifying. We qualified decent but not great. Hoped maybe we would catch a little bit of luck and catch the invert but we missed it by 1.

We handled good for the first half of the race. Managed our way through some tough battles and great, hard, side by side racing and slowly worked our way up a few spots.

The truck started to get tight after the first caution about halfway through the race, and just kept getting worse from there. We had worked our way up to 6th and think we were initially good enough to get a decent top 5 finish.

The handling got worse for the last 17 laps after another restart, and we dropped all the way back to 11th.

We found the RR tire was about 10lbs soft after the race due to a valve stem core that came loose and was losing air.

We'll set our focus on the double header next weekend at Jefferson for the Wisconsin State Championships and try to finish off the year with a few strong runs.

Super sad about this one. I was excited to see all my Grundy County Speedway friends again

We'll take a break and be back in September at the Dells 🏁

Officials with Grundy County Speedway, Mid-Am Racing Series, and the Midwest Truck Series have made the decision to cancel the Saturday August 15th event.

While the window may appear sometime Saturday afternoon, the conditions will be less than ideal for pit parking, fan parking, and the saturation levels under the track surface.

In addition many truck teams will be traveling and we don't want to chance the expense if we cannot get the show in.

Highs & Lows....

𝑻𝑼𝑬𝑺𝑫𝑨𝒀: 𝑹𝑨𝑪𝑬𝑫𝑨𝒀
⏱️ Qualifying : 13th out of 24
🏁 Feature: Start 13th / Finish 20th

Racing is full of highs and lows. Sometimes it's over the course of a season, sometimes it's all in one day. This year it's been a lot of both

We struggled for speed in practice and qualifying. We made a lot of good changes throughout practice to get the truck better than where we started, we just didn't have the lap times to show it

Didn't qualify great again, but another big invert put the fast qualifier right in front of us. We just needed to try to hang with him and work our way through the field

The good news.... we were able to do just that. Made some good passes and got lucky in the right lane throughout the race and we started chipping away at positions. We worked our way up to be battling just outside the top 5 late in the race

The bad news.... while passing for 7th with 3 to go, we got tangled up with the truck on the outside coming out of 4 which sent them hard into the wall. Racing hard we both had our trucks hung out there through the corner. I got loose on exit and my RR kicked out right as she got back down the track to exit. We ran out of room and made contact in a terrible spot, pointing her hard into the sketchy WIR turn 4 fence

We've talked and both know it was just an unfortunate racing deal, but it sucks for everyone regardless when that happens. Both of our good runs were ruined and they've got a wrecked truck. It's part of racing, but so much time, effort, and money goes into this sport and I feel terrible anytime I have a role in someone having equipment to fix. Very sorry to Danielle and the 28 team

Safe to say I probably took us out of the championship hunt without some crazy luck, but that doesn't really change the gameplan on our end. We just need to find the speed we had to start the year and go chase a few more trophies

Excited to head to Grundy next week which was my home track for the past 5 years, followed by the Dells where we had success in the season opener. Hopefully we can get things turned back around to go on a tear these last 6 races
