Liberty University Bass Fishing Team

Official Bass Fishing Team of Liberty University. Currently a chapter of FLW as well as B.A.S.S. Card.

We strive to provide students of Liberty University with the necessary resources and skills to better their fishing skills, fish competitively, as well as promote Liberty University, fellowship, conservation, and, most-importantly, ministry within the sport of Bass Fishing. The Liberty Bass Fishing Club is Co-ed and open to all full-time Liberty University Students (including online) with a valid student I.D. Official Sponsors for 2017 include:

It’s been a busy past few weeks for the Liberty Bass Fishing Team! It started off with the VA BASS Nation College State Championship where team members Colin Cooper and Cory Mitchell were able to finish 2nd place! Then the team rolled down to Santee Cooper Lakes for the Bassmaster College Series, where they were able to find some nice fish! It wrapped up with team members Colin Cooper and Cory Mitchell finishing in 4th place out of almost 80 boats in the Anglers Choice Team Tournament Trail on Buggs Island Lake! Great job guys, and thank you to the Lord for safety and for providing these opportunities for us!

Huge shoutout to G-Ratt Baits for sending us their 4” & 5” Rocker to try out! They look super realistic and feel very high quality! We are excited to put these to use and catch some fish on them! Make sure you give these a try when looking for a new minnow to try out!

This past weekend team members Colin Cooper and Cory Mitchell fished the Anglers Choice Team Tournament Trail on Smith Mountain Lake. On Saturday they were able to bring in 17.49lbs, just barely missing a check by less than a pound. Then, on Sunday they were able to wrangle up 15.92lbs. Good showing this weekend guys, way to fish!

Team members Colin Cooper and Cory Mitchell traveled down to Lake Wylie this past weekend and were able to walk away with a check and a 6th place finish in the Anglers Choice Team Tournament Trail! They had 18.44lbs on Saturday which gave them the 6th place finish, and 12.31lbs yesterday which still put them in the top fifteen. We are so grateful the Lord blessed them with great fishing as well as safe travels. Great work guys, way to fish!

Tougher week for our guys on The Big O! Sunny and warm Florida quickly turned quite the opposite on tournament day and changed things around. All in all the team was blessed with safe travels on and off the water, which is the biggest blessing. Thank you everyone for all the prayers and support! Onto the next one!

The first tournament of the year is finally upon us! For the past couple days, three of our teams have been hard at work practicing on Lake Okeechobee! The first day of the tournament starts tomorrow morning, and championship day will be Thursday. Good luck to all of our guys, we are praying for safety and some nice fish to be brought in! Make sure you catch the weigh ins on Bassmaster.com both days!

Shoutout to Liberty Bass Team alum Jack Dice on an excellent season in the Bassmaster Opens and EQ’s! Jack came up one bite short of qualifying for the Elites, but we are still so proud of the angler and man he has become! Way to represent the Liberty Bass Fishing Team and continue to represent your faith! The Lord has big plans for you and we know you’ll be back! 👊🏻
