The Smithtown Judo Club was founded in 1961 by Sensei John Brisbois teaching. Smithtown Judo is now lead by Sensei John Lucas, Joseph Prizzi and Jason Brodsky.
Our focus is teaching traditional Kodokan Judo. We have a kids program and adult program. In 1994 the club was turned over to Jean- Pierre Lucas. Sensei Lucas started under Sensei Brisbois in 1963, at 5 years old, and has been there ever since. Also at the club with Sensei Lucas is Sensei Joe Prizzi(4th Dan) who started in 1968, and Sensei Jason Brodsky (3rd Dan) who started in 1980. Our Philoso

Happy New Year! All classes will begin agin tomorrow Saturday January 3rd. Kids 10am and adults 11 am. We look forward to seeing everyone back on the mats.

Smithtown Judo is sadden to announce the passing of Sensei John Lucas. He was a friend, leader, mentor, leader and incredible warrior. He will be deeply missed by the Judo community!

Smithtown Judo would like to announce the retirement of Sensei John Lucas. Sensei John dedicated 60 years to Smithtown Judo as a competitor and instructor. His fighting spirit and leadership were unmatched. He has honorably passed Smithtown Judo to Sensei Joe Prizzi and Sensei Jason Brodsky to keep the long tradition of excellence at Smithtown Judo going.
