Tree lined golf course designed by Ed Ault in 1963, renovated in 2006. It offers a challenge to all skill levels with yardages ranging from 3,400 to 7,000.

As many of you know this is one of my favorite days. We have the U.S. Kids Dover Region here at Garrisons Lake Golf Club. We had 80 kids play today with most of them having their families caddy for them. In just over 5 years this has grown from 36 kids to where it is now. Special thank you to Slappsters Kitchen for bringing their food truck to feed everyone. .

If you want to see some fun golf this weekend, we have the U.S. Kids Dover region playing here starting Saturday at 10:30 a.m. through 3:00 p.m. And then on Sunday we have 2 events: The Veteran's Golf Association tees off at 9:00 a.m. and then the Philly Jr. PGA kids tee off at 11:00 a.m. and run through 3:00 p.m. as well. We will have food trucks on both days and will have spectator carts available for rent on a first come, first serve basis. Come support the kids and the vendors.

Following up with today's 'Thank a Superintendent Day', I want to do a personal shout out to our Superintendent, Mike Biederman, Jr. Mike and I go back almost 20 years from when I became the Head Golf Pro at Maple Dale CC in Dover. Mike was in high school working on the grounds crew with his Dad, Mike Sr. You saw it back then that Mike was a worker. He basically outworked all the other staff back then and not much has changed.
Mike did his college work at Del-Tech in Georgetown earning his GCSAA Certification and not long after, became the Superintendent at Wild Quail in Camden-Wyoming area. I learned back in late 2020 that he may be looking to leave so I made it a point to get him to interview for our Superintendent and boy are we the lucky ones.
Mike had come in during a rough time with the greens not being ideal. He and his crew worked so hard to get us healthy and then, over the years, one of the best conditioned courses in the area. His knowledge of turf and his dedication to continuing his education have made him one of the best Super's in this state.
Along with his Assistant Kyle and Mechanic, Al, they keep this course in great shape. We're proud to have you here at Garrisons Lake Golf Club and as part of our Troon family.

Every smooth putt, striped fairway, and freshly raked bunker starts long before the first tee time. Today we're celebrating our superintendent and the entire agronomy team for their dedication, early mornings, and countless hours of hard work that make every round possible. ⛳‼️

Just had these pictures sent to me a few minutes ago. The person who sent me these teed off at 2 p m, came across these on hole 12 and hole 17. It's coming up on Thank a Superintendent week and this is what is happening. We can do better. If this is happening in your group, stop the person or let us know. There is no place for this. We have a very small crew that works very hard to give us the best conditions for the money.
