Today, we remember the heroes who never made it home.

Their sacrifice gave us the freedom to gather under Friday night lights, cheer from the stands, and live the lives we sometimes take for granted. Memorial Day is more than a long weekend. It is a reminder that freedom has always come with a cost.

From all of us at SD Trojans Football, we honor the brave men and women who gave everything for this country.

Next Tuesday May 26th Summer workouts begin! The schedule will be Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday at 8:30 am and that schedule will remain all the way until dead period. This is a crucial time for development of each player!

Somewhere between the first snap of August and the last Friday night lights, these boys became men.

What started as summer workouts, early mornings, late nights under the stadium lights, and long rides home after Friday games turned into something so much bigger than football. Somewhere along the way, the little boys who first put on that navy and gold jersey grew up right in front of our eyes.

Today, they walk across a stage as graduates, and there are not enough words to describe how proud we are of the young men they have become. Not just for what they did on the field, but for the character, heart, leadership, and resilience they carried through every season of life.

Thank you, seniors, for every memory, every sacrifice, and every ounce of heart you gave this program and this community. You gave this town something to cheer for, but even more importantly, something to be proud of.

And to the parents sitting there trying not to cry today… we see you too. Because no one tells you the hardest part of Friday Night Lights is realizing one day it becomes the last one. Thank you for sharing your boys with all of us through the years.
