Did you know that strength training decreases the risk of osteoporosis and can improve your symptoms?
Take a look at what strength training can do for you:
-Increase bone density as soon as 6 months of consistent strength training.
-Slow bone and muscle loss and improve balance reducing risk of falls and injury.
-Target hips, spine, wrists (sites more likely to fracture).
-Maintain independence as you age.
-Manage chronic conditions such as arthritis, back pain, obesity, heart disease, depression and diabetes.
-Sharpen your thinking and learning skills.
Have you had bariatric surgery or use a GLP-1 medication?
Post bariatric surgical patients are at an increased risk for muscle loss due to the significant weight loss that occurs. Without strength training, this muscle mass can continue to decrease for up to 2 years post-surgery. There has been research that shows that GLP-1 medical weight loss has shown similar side effects.
Strong Bones can help to focus on maintaining or increasing your skeletal muscle mass and help keep or increase your bone strength!
