Fall 2021 Dance Opportunity❗❗❗

For the Fall 2021 semester, the Tufts Dance Program is delighted to be hosting two choreographic commissions by guest artists, Geneviève Du Paul and Ian Berg, to be performed as part of our Fall 2021 Dance Concert in late November. Geneviève is planning to set a 6 minute excerpt of Vaslav Nijinsky’s original version of Sacre du Printemps (ballet/modern), Ian will be choreographing/setting a contemporary tap piece. Casting for these pieces will not happen until sometime during the second or third week of the fall semester. Rehearsal commitments will include approximately 10-14 rehearsals (including tech and dress), and 2 performances. Students who participate in these projects will have the option of registering for DNC 91.68 Dance Performance Practicum, a 2-credit pass/fail course. However, registration is not required to participate. ATTENTION ALL STUDENT DANCE GROUP LEADERS❗❗❗ As we are nearing the end of the semester and E-Board elections are starting, please fill out the Leadership Form linked below. We would like to stay in contact with you all as we would like to support you and your performance groups in way we can. Please have this form filled out and submitted by 4/29!!!!

2021-2022 Tufts Dance Groups Leadership Please respond with your name and email so that we can add you to our directory of student dance group leaders. We will be adding all leaders to our Dance at Tufts canvas site and email groups in order to better communicate to you throughout the semester.

The Dance Department Annual Spring Concerts start THIS FRIDAY❗❗❗ We could not be more excited to share these performances and films with you all this year. Even with the circumstances our dancers, creators and faculty have worked extremely hard to make this happen. We could not be more proud of what was created this year!

To start things off, we will have the Choreographer's Workshop this Friday, April 23rd @ 7pm!

Then we will have a film by the Solo Dance on Camera class titled "HERE". The Film will air Monday, April 26th @ 7pm!

And to finish the dance season off, we will have the Spring Dance Concert!! Catch this Friday April 30th @ 7pm!

It's going to take place this summer and as you know they are offering a hybrid model with the option to do 100% virtual. They are looking for instructors who are available to teach Monday thru Friday 9:00-3:00 for the month of July.
