Congrats to our school's founder, Justin Aucoin - Historical Fencing for passing his examination this weekend with the π€Ί Fencing Masters Certificate Program!
He is now a Provost in Arms in Italian Foil, Saber and Epee. He was one of six candidates who tested (five provosts and one instructor). πππ
The examination is extensive, consisting of a written test; oral examination on theory and pedagogy; as well as giving and taking an individual lesson with the foil, epee, and saber; performing "random actions" with the weapons chosen by the board; and running a military-style group lesson.
Congrats to Justin, Han and Steve over at our friends at Boston Armizare, and the rest of the candidates!

Five years ago today we had our very first in-person rapier class at Tufts Park in Medford - July 8, 2021 at 6:30pm.
That first summer was a very wet one. We swear a third of those classes got rained our or shortened by rain, regardless of the forecast.
It's been a ride since then -- adding a classical Italian Fencing class in 2022 and going from a humble 4 fencers to 40. What started off as just an online class during the pandemic has blossomed and we love the little community that has sprung up around it.
Thanks to everyone who's passed through our doors and crossed blades with us over the years. Here's to many, many more!
