Durbrow Performance Training We help parents and professionals in Somerville get strong, confident and have fun in the gym. Our training family is unique.

We take a strangely simple approach. We want you to lose fat, gain muscle, feel great and become the best version of you. We'll help you do this through our training methods, but also through helping you to blossom in a team and family environment. No judgement, no screaming and yelling or competing for the "best time." We push you to become the best version of YOU and help you to create clarity and purpose around exercise and training. You may actually have a little fun while you're at it.

Congrats to our October Client of The Month, Kimberly Schmitt!!

What brought you to DPT? I had recently moved to Somerville and decided that it was time to get healthy and active. There was an ad that made DPT standout, showing women around my age exercising as a community with very genuine testimonials. I signed up right away!

How long have you been training with us? Just hit my 3 year anniversary at the end of August.

What do you do in the “real world?” (job, family, pets, etc) I'm a scientist (virologist), currently in Biotech. Since moving to Somerville from Colorado, I adopted 2 very energetic, adorable cats named Wendell (tuxedo) and Waverly (tortie).

What is your biggest gym achievement so far? Maintaining my strength before my recent hip replacement surgery and working to rebuild it fully afterwards. The coaches at DPT have helped make this possible. I’m so incredibly grateful for their help, encouragement, and support throughout this entire process. And the community has been wonderfully supportive too, making this journey feel a lot less lonely.

What would you say to someone who is thinking about joining or who has just joined DPT? You should absolutely join! The classes will quickly become the highlight of your day.

2️⃣5️⃣0️⃣ workouts, way to go Carolyn 👏👏

Consistently strength training 2 days per week.
More mobility.
Less knee pain.

And she didn’t even know how many workouts she’d done.

Just continuing to show up and now it’s a consistent habit 👌

Feeling capable and strong for the long game starts with a coach who gets the why behind the work. 💪

1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ workouts, way to go Amanda 👏👏

Head down, always working hard.

She’s improved her strength and athleticism so much over the past year.

You absolutely rock Amanda 💪

Training hard AND safe.

Every single exercise in our group sessions can be modified to fit each person’s level, adjust for any injuries or if something just isn’t feeling great that day.

We want people to get strong and have more stamina but not at the expense of pain or an injury.

If you’re looking to get strong, have more energy and move better, we’ve got you. 🫡

DM us to get started with a totally no pressure 2 week kickstart 💪

You do not need to live in the gym to get strong.

If you’re consistent, focused, and training with intention, 2 strength workouts per week can absolutely change your energy, strength, muscle tone, and overall health.

Busy people often think they need “more.”

Most of the time, they just need a plan they can actually stick to.

Here’s how we structure workouts for busy adults at DPT:

👉Focus on full body strength each session
👉Prioritize big movement patterns: squat, hinge, push, pull, carry
👉Keep workouts around 45-50 minutes
👉Train hard enough to challenge yourself without crushing recovery
👉Add simple conditioning instead of hours of cardio
👉Progress gradually week to week
👉Stay consistent for months — not just when motivation is high

Two good workouts every week for a year beats an unrealistic 5-day plan you quit after 3 weeks.

Consistency always wins 👌
