**ANNOUNCEMENT** The LAF Division of the National Football Association (NFA) has announced that they will push the launch of the womens season til 2023. The Speed are still recruiting for an Owner, Coaching staff and players. The LAF Division has, also, been re-formatted as womens indoor.

**PRESS RELEASE** - The South Bend Speed, proud members of Ladies American Football (LAF), are pleased to announce that Alex Cox will serve as the team's General Manager for the inaugural 2022 season.
Having played football in middle and high school, Cox soon developed a love for coaching, winning various championships on the high school level and the 2019 Battle Ground Football League (BGFL) championship as offensive coordinator for the Michiana Thunderhawks. Already the owner of the BGFL's Elkhart Panthers (set to begin play in 2021), Cox jumped at the opportunity to head women's football's long-awaited return to South Bend.
"What drew me to the LAF is the opportunity to start and maintain a team here where I live," Cox stated. "I live and breathe football. My wife and kids know this and they want to be a part of it as well."

The GM would supervise football operations (player tryouts, coach selection, etc.) and arrange game venues, team sponsors and other local team-related endeavors.,,meanwhile, the head coach role is self-explanatory. If the GM is chosen first, they would be in charge of selecting the head coach.
Women's tackle football returns to South Bend in 2022 with the South Bend Sped! Proud members of Ladies American Football, the Speed are the third women's tackle football team to call South Bend home, and the first since the Indiana Thunder of the NWFA (2003-2006)
