Age divisions are 50-59, 60-69 and 70+.

Christner Goes Wire to Wire!

Austin Christner earned his second Greater South Bend Men’s Metro title on Sunday at Erskine, having also won in 2024, going wire-to-wire for a ten-stroke victory.

Christner posted a 71 on Sunday, closing the 72-hole event with a 279 (-5) total.

Matt Noll finished 2nd, at 289. Multiple time Metro champ Ben Szklarek closed with a 71 to grab 3rd place, at 293.

Leo Goss cruised to victory in the A-Flight, firing a final 36-holes at Erskine of 67-75, totaling 298 over the 72-holes.

Colin Abbott edged Todd Plonski, by a stroke, for 2nd.

In B-Flight action, Chad Spencer won the title, with Al Smith as runner-up.

David “Doc” Krizman took a one-shot lead into yesterday’s final round in C-Flight play, recorded a sensational 75, and pulled away from runner-up Corey Sainato.

Corey Sainato was our 2026 Chad Quimby Award winner.

Christner Extends Metro Lead

Austin Christner fired his third consecutive under par round, to open an 8-stroke lead heading into tomorrow’s final round of our 102nd annual Greater South Bend Men’s Metro.

After rounds of 68 and 71 last weekend at Elbel, Christner fashioned a score of 69 this morning at Erskine, a round that included 4 birdies (Holes 2, 3, 5 and 12).

Matt Noll sits 2nd, improving each round, with scores of 73, 72 and 71.

Jonah Kumfer is in 3rd place, after a 74 today, and 220 total, through 54 holes.

In A Flight play, Leo Goss’ scintillating 67 today, the low score of the tournament, sees him at 223 through 3 rounds, 5 strokes ahead of Robbie Rogers.

Goss made SIX birdies on the day (Holes 5, 6, 10, 12, 16 and 17).

Chad Spencer holds a commanding lead in B Flight action, sitting at 241, 12 strokes ahead of both Kevin Swartz and Al Smith.

David “Doc” Krizman has a one-shot lead in the C Flight, with Corey Sainato in 2nd place.

Final round action is set for Sunday morning at Erskine.
