ππ₯ 57 Years Apart. One Number. One Ballpark. One Incredible Legacy. π₯π
Some stories are bigger than baseball and softball.
This morning, Coach Megan Hughes shared a photo that stopped us in our tracks. On the right is her daughter, Addie Hughes, proudly wearing #10 on our softball field. On the left is Addie's Grandpa, Terry Kubiak, wearing that very same number while playing ball at Southeast 57 years ago.
What makes this even more special is that neither Addie nor Megan realized they had both worn #10 until a family member commented on a post asking our community to share old Southeast memories and photos. Out of all the years, all the players, and all the numbers... there it was.
Terry passed away in September of 2024, and like so many families who have loved this park through generations, the Kubiaks and Hughes family carry his memory with them every day. To discover this connection so unexpectedly feels like something truly special.
At Southeast, we often talk about being more than a ballpark. We are generations of families, friendships, memories, and traditions. Kids grow up here, become parents and grandparents, and one day watch the next generation step onto the same dirt they once played on themselves.
Whether you believe in signs or simply in the power of family legacy, it's hard not to smile at this one.
A little girl wearing #10. A grandpa who once wore #10. The same ballpark. Fifty-seven years apart.
Some connections never leave us. β€οΈ
Thank you, Megan, for allowing us to share this beautiful piece of your family's story. And thank you, Terry, for helping build the legacy that still lives on at Southeast today.
βΎπ₯ If you have old Southeast photos or memories, we'd love to see them. Every picture helps tell the story of the generations who have called this park home. ππ

π¨π¨ EMERGENCY CONCESSION STAND POST π¨π¨
Dear Southeast Families,
We have reached the point where begging, bribing, and staring dramatically out the concession window may be our only remaining options. π
We are STILL short on concession volunteers for upcoming games.
And before you scroll thinking, "Someone else will sign up..."
π We are talking to YOU.
Southeast Ball Park is run entirely by volunteers. There is no paid staff hiding in the back waiting to save the day. The same people lining fields, scheduling games, answering emails at midnight, fixing equipment, handling registrations, and chasing loose baseballs are the same people trying to keep the concession stand open.
Right now, we simply do not have enough volunteers.
That means:
π No hot dogs.
πΏ No popcorn.
π₯€ No cold drinks.
π« No candy.
π© Lots of hangry kids.
π‘ Lots of hangry adults.
π Potentially even hangry coaches.
And nobody wants that kind of chaos.
We're asking every family to please consider signing up for ONE shift. Just one. Grab a friend, a spouse, a grandparent, an older sibling, or your favorite responsible teenager.
π Teens age 14+ can volunteer and earn service hours!
If every family gave just a little bit of time, we'd have this covered in minutes.
So here's the question:
Would you rather spend a couple hours helping in concessions...
OR
Spend an entire game listening to your child explain how unfair it is that there was no popcorn? π€
Help us keep the lights on, the grill hot, and the concession windows open.

Please share. Please sign up. Please help.
ππ Because Southeast only works when ALL of us work together.
