A rich history of hosting numerous quality leagues and events. The Byers Softball Complex is located on South Bend's southwest side of the city.
Since its inception in 1997, Byers has hosted numerous softball events both fast pitch and slow pitch. Most notably, have been the three visits by the U.S. Women's Olympic softball team and multiple national championships for the Amateur Softball Association. The complex has also been awarded the James Farrell Award of Excellence 15 times. The complex has five diamonds, a full concession stand, restrooms, bleachers, and an operations building.

Too often, we hear complaints about our umpires—but credit should be given when credit is due. Ron Wilson, one of our most seasoned umpires with nearly 50 years of slow-pitch experience, showed exactly why experience matters during yesterday’s City Tournament. The 2026 Fall League will be starting Sunday, August 30, with games also starting for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday the same week.

Congratulations to Pemberton Landscaping on claiming the Men’s City Championship tonight—and their 4th title in the last 5 years!
This marks their 3rd consecutive City Championship, and by our records, Pemberton Landscaping is the first team in South Bend softball history to win three straight City Championships in more than 50 years of city tournament play.

Comeback Champions
CONGRATULATIONS TO FIRE HOUSE SUBS ON AN INCREDIBLE COME-FROM-BEHIND VICTORY IN THE 2026 COED CITY CHAMPIONSHIP GAME! 🔥🏆
Down 11–1 in the 5th inning and down to their LAST OUT, Fire House Subs refused to quit and completed an unbelievable comeback to claim the title by a score of 14-12!
