This time of year I hear a lot of teams selling their programs on the number of games their kids play. Most aren't being truthful anyway. However, the number of games is meaningless. We have this travel thing backwards when we are worried about the number of games more than the number of practice opportunities a player has. Find yourself a team that develops through meaningful reps and worries more about development than wins. One of the best players in our facility has only played 25 games this year. She isn't worried about subbing every weekend to supplement that. She takes the time she has off and grinds in the facility. That is how you get better. If you are having your kid play games 80% of the time and practice 20% of the time then you are cheating their development.

This young man came through the Clubhouse a few months ago and impressed me so much. His skills were obvious, but his personality and openness to talk about his journey were even more impressive. It is great to see good people succeed. Way to go AJ!

We are looking for one final 13u player to join our group for next year. Any A/B catchers looking for a new home let me know. We are located in South Bend and have a very talented group of kids, great families, and we keep things inexpensive.

I said we would never have teams here, but I'm glad I changed my mind because these girls are going to be so fun to watch. Congrats to these young ladies for making a team that will soon become a family.

As hard as it is for an athlete to do, remind them of this. They are all on their own journey and don't compare their journey to anyone elses. The most rewarded athletes will celebrate each other's successes and lift each other up after failure.
