Michiana Archery

Professor Xin Lu of the University of Notre Dame hosted an event with us recently. The professor brought his family and members of his lab at Notre Dame. It was an excellent group and a welcome break from the amazing work these guys are doing.

A little online research led us to this explanation of what Professor Lu and his team are up to.

The Lu Laboratory at the University of Notre Dame integrates mechanistic tumor immunology with translational drug discovery to decode immune evasion, metastasis, and therapy resistance in solid tumors. Our research program characterizes the complex crosstalk between neoplastic cells and the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME) to develop next-generation combination therapies. We aim to convert “cold” tumors into “hot,” therapy‑responsive lesions by dissecting and targeting the crosstalk between cancer cells and the immune/stromal compartments.

This was an impressive group and we are happy to have played a small role in their team building exercises.

Joe and Sarah came in all the way from Lake Station to get Sarah‘s new bow. First bow experiences are a specialty of ours and it is our favorite thing to do! Congratulations to Sarah and thank you!

Brian got referred to us by his buddy Ryan. This is the best possible advertisement. We had a great time with these 2 friends and Brian went home with a new ARC 34 with all the fun toys attached! Congratulations and Thank You!

Ava is in a relatively new relationship and new to archery. Daymon is her boyfriend and he is so eager to share archery and hunting with Ava that he brought her all the way from Illinois to get her a new bow.

First task - get her shooting. Eye dominance? Left! First shot with a left handed recurve? See the picture.

So we fit Ava with a lefty Mission and she is off to the races. We think this lovely couple will be back soon, but either way, it’s a good sign for these guys and their relationship that they are sharing archery together.

Casey recently graduated from high school and is already working in the electrical trade. When it came time to upgrade his bow, he came to see us. Paula and Jim are mom and dad. It was a fun visit with them in the shop and this is one cool family. Jim can’t wait to shoot archery with his son and he will probably be back for a bow of his own soon.

Speaking of bows, Casey got a new Arc 34 in Kodiak Brown with all the accessories one could want. We applaud this impressive young man on his initiative and success.

His parents are rightfully proud of him. Congratulations and thank you to all.

Tony came in looking for a traditional bow and left-handed at that. When it came down to it, he couldn’t decide and bought BOTH of them! Congratulations to Tony. This was lots of fun.

Arlan has been out of town for work, but he is back! One of his first stops? You guessed it. He stopped in to see us and in the process, he bought a pre-owned Mathews Title! Welcome back, Arlan! And thank you!

We are gratified to see folks driving long distances to visit us - often passing other shops to do business with us! It is truly humbling and validating.

Brian is the latest to drive from Michigan City for his new bow. We are one of the top Mission dealers in the country. The value proposition is hard to beat. So we appreciate Brian seeing the value in the bow and in choosing us.

We carry almost every major archery brand and usually have a selection from each one. So it is not surprising when someone needs a new bow that we have one or more in stock.

Trevor came in and upgraded from an Obsession to the Darton Tritec 33. Darton has been turning out amazing bows and we are a proud dealer.

Looks like Trevor got exactly what he was looking for. We thank and congratulate him on this fine setup and upgrade. We appreciate it!

Stephanie wants to get into archery. Nick, her boyfriend, had just the place in mind. So they stopped in with an older Diamond bow from Nick’s youth, but it did not fit Stephanie properly. Stephanie is rather tall. And furthermore, the restring cost would have been expensive relative to the value of the Diamond.

We aren’t relationship experts here at Michiana Archery, but we think couples who shoot together probably have a higher success rate. And we think that properly fitting equipment makes the experience all the more enjoyable.

So it’s no surprise that Stephanie got hooked up with a new bow! A much better long term choice for archery … and perhaps, the relationship!

We applaud Nick and Stephanie for their excellent choices. These two are a joy to work with. And the bow fits Stephanie amazingly well. We wish this couple every success and hope to see them back in the shop very soon. Congratulations and thank you!
