☘️ Pre-Premier highland is entering a whole new chapter in in their highland journey as they start to learn the Jig!

The two character dances - the Jig and the Hornpipe - introduce an entire new level of technical complexities, more advanced musicality, and characterization to highland. These are often the dances students aspire to learn as they progress, and are a big milestone on the way to advancement.

Associate teacher Charlotte is leading the “heel-click” train to help the dancers get comfortable with the different rhythm and movement pattern of the Jig. ☘️

🎓Hats off to Advanced dancer Nicole, who graduated with a masters degree in sports and performance nutrition and dietetics from Marywood University in Scranton, PA last weekend. She also completed the dietetic internship program there.

Nicole returned to Highland dance almost exactly one year ago after a 10+ year break. She’s jumped right back into the competitive and performance circuit and will be dancing in the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo this summer!

In addition to highland, Nicole trains in other dance forms, is involved in community theater, and much more.

She’s a friendly classmate, hard worker, and a delight to have in our studio. Congratulations Nicole! 🎉🥳👏
