A HUGE thank you to our friends at the American Legion Department of Vermont and the Sons of The American Legion! 🎉

Over the past year, 72 American Legion Posts and 32 Sons of The American Legion Squadrons across Vermont came together to raise an incredible $34,742.49 for Special Olympics Vermont through Penguin Plunge participation, community events, and fundraising efforts.

A special shoutout to Department Commander Bill Brothers and Detachment Commander Marc Colety, who selected Special Olympics Vermont as their Commander's Project, inspiring Legion members across the state to rally behind our athletes.

We’re so proud of Special Olympics Vermont athlete Lindsay Arthurs, who became the first autistic athlete to complete the 2026 TriWaloon Sprint Triathlon in Northern Michigan on July 18! 💪⭐

Just one month ago, Lindsay brought home two silver medals in Track & Field for at Special Olympics USA Games. Now, she’s adding another incredible achievement to her growing list of accomplishments while continuing to break down barriers and inspire others.

We can’t wait to see what she accomplishes next! Congratulations, Lindsay!
