🌟 POWER OF POSITIVITY 🌟

We are celebrating a long-time client and 4-H alumn this week, McKayla Carpenter! 🥳

I want to extend gratitude for McKayla's long-term dedication to the horses and supporting the Hickory Haven Equestrian family over the years.

Over the past couple months she has been very flexible with her time, assisting with a last-minute haul when Ashley's truck was out of commission during her maternity leave. McKayla also hauled to many of our local horse shows and even to the State 4-H Horse and Pony Championship in Lexington, VA for some of our 4-H kids. 😁

Thank you for helping our 4-Hers, show team, and Ashley with a training horse!

Horse Leaders welcome this Monday 6-7 PM! Come enjoy extra horse time and supporting our younger riders. 🐎

Going to keep this as short as I can. Emotions are running high. Many of you are aware of Cheylo's uphill battle over the past few weeks.

We have likely reached the end of the road with Cheylo and getting a diagnosis and positive prognosis, or even pain management. If families want to say their goodbyes, come give treats (however parents want to handle it), euthanasia will likely be on Friday. Visits should be by Thursday evening. 😔

I hate to make a post, but there are just too many families to reach out to and I do not want to miss anyone. Cheylo was a "first ride" and a memorable ride for many young equestrians.

**** I will keep everyone updated should something miraculously happen in his favor before then. Prayers are greatly appreciated. 🙏 ****

🇺🇸 LABOR DAY LESSONS 🇺🇸

Weather is looking much better tomorrow! I can't wait to do some riding and see everyone... give the horses some TLC after the heatwave.

Volunteers welcome during lesson hours to care for horses and help during lessons.

830-11 AM
430-8 PM

All lessons are canceled for the afternoon. Monday looks MUCH better and we will be excited to have everyone back riding and caring for the horses. Enjoy the weekend and stay cool!

🌟 POWER OF POSITIVITY 🌟

We have another team member to recognize and celebrate this week! A youth that plays a vital role in helping tie up loose ends and who offers a helping hand to our younger riders... RIVER!

✋️ River has been riding for several years and volunteers nearly every week, helping assist younger riders to groom, tack, and lead horses. This is such a HUGE help, especially since River assists all those little ones that just can't quite reach those tall places.

🍀 Just this week, River assisted in taking down a fellow 4-H member's horse (along with his own) to the State 4-H Horse Show in Lexington, Va. Thank youuuuu, River, and good luck!

🥕 Also.... Luthor would like to personally thank River for his weekly carrots that he receives after his rides.

THANK YOU River! Hickory Haven appreciates all that you have done for our team, as well as our 4-H group, The Four-Legged Clovers. 🥳

September invoices have been sent! NEW SCHEDULE BEGINS NEXT WEEK!

Reminder... Per pur handbook, discounted lessons are to be pre-paid at the beginning of the month around the time of booking and beginning of your first lesson. If you would prefer to pay weekly, please reach out to have your invoice modified to reflect the non-disocunted rate.

SEPTEMBER SCHEDULING - 5 WEEK MONTH
(August 31 - October 4)

* Weekend lessons begin September 12th! We will have 4 weekends this scheduling period.

* 5 PM times are offered, but skill level/age has not been set yet. If you want that time, let me know ASAP so I can start forming groups.

It is that time again! School starts next week for most folks. The new schedule is out, and it has quite a few changes. Please check the schedule on the website (link below) BEFORE reaching out to confirm your lesson time. We will be forming some new groups due to instructor needs, new riders, and horse use needs.
