Hi friends!
It was with mixed emotions that we saw the announcement that Tiny Seeds Forest School will be closing. We're so grateful for the foundation they created in our community and the countless children and families who had the opportunity to experience the joy of learning outdoors. We hope to honor the path they paved while bringing our own unique approach to outdoor education.
For quite some time, I've dreamed of creating a forest school program of my own. As much as the idea has been on my heart, I never wanted to step on anyone's toes or compete with Tiny Seeds. They were already serving this community so well, and I deeply respected the work they were doing.
When I was earning my degree in Early Childhood Education, I had the opportunity to connect with someone who had experience running a similar outdoor program. Learning from them sparked an even deeper passion for nature-based education and gave me valuable insight into what it takes to create a meaningful outdoor learning environment.
When I saw Tiny Seeds' announcement, I realized this might be the opportunity I've been waiting for to finally pursue this dream. Over the next year, I'll be dedicating my time to continuing my education, learning from experienced forest school educators, and thoughtfully preparing to embark on this adventure.
I'm excited to share that the goal is to launch our new forest school in August 2027!
As we begin planning, I'd love to hear from our community. What would you hope to see in an outdoor program? What would make a forest school meaningful and valuable for your family? Whether it's age groups, schedules, learning philosophies, or special activities, your feedback will help shape this program into something that truly serves our community.
