Tahoe! Alaska Bound. Let’s Ride Together!

It’s official—we are running our professional snowmobile race team, Trail Brothers, right here out of South Lake Tahoe as we prepare for the 2027 Iron Dog in Alaska!Training for a 2,300+ mile sub-zero race across the Arctic wilderness takes an immense amount of seat time, but we don't want to do it alone. We want to connect with our hometown riding community.

Calling All Tahoe Sled Heads:In between our high-intensity team practice sessions, we want to bring local riders together. Whether you love boondocking through the trees, climbing Sierra peaks, or just hitting the snow with a solid crew, let’s build a local riding group to head out and shred together this winter! Drop a comment if you want in on the first meetup.

Looking for Local Tahoe Support:To get our machines, tools, and 39-foot trailer program across the continent to the Alaskan bush, we need our community in our corner. We are looking for local business sponsors—from hometown shops and restaurants to regional brands—who want massive visual exposure on a rolling highway billboard.

This year’s Iron Dog originally included 15 racers from the Lower 48, with 13 lining up after Team 27 scratched following a training injury.

It’s with a heavy heart to announce that team #27 will be a scratch to this years Iron Dog. This week, we had an accident while training in Tahoe. Mark was involved in an accident that left him face down in the river, unconscious for a short amount of time. We were able to get him to an ambulance and he was treated and later released from the local South Lake Tahoe hospital. He was lucky, no broken bones and he is currently resting and recovering. We were scheduled to leave for Alaska on Monday, and will certainly miss being a part of this race this year We appreciate the support from the Iron Dog and some of the 2026 Iron Dog race teams. We will unfortunately table this race until the 2027 Iron Dog. We are grateful for the incredibly generous and considerate Iron Dog community, including the leadership at Iron Dog. 3

South Lake Tahoe has been getting dumped on!! Time to practice for the iron dog! We have the sleds at our Tahoe home, and time to get them broken in! Thank you Dad and Laurie for transporting them down to us!
