THE WAIT IS OVER.

With the 14th overall pick in the first round of the 2026 MLB Draft, Jacob Lombard ‘26 heard the words every player dreams of, his name called as he was selected by the Miami Marlins

As he now begins his professional career, Jacob joins his older brother, George Lombard Jr. ‘23, in the professional ranks, as the two continue to represent Gulliver Prep on baseball’s biggest stage.

Longtime Gulliver Prep tennis coach Kelly Mulligan was awarded the prestigious Miami Herald Lifetime Achievement Award, one of the publication’s highest honors recognizing a career of extraordinary impact, sustained excellence, and lasting contributions to high school athletics. Mulligan was surprised with the honor during a special celebration surrounded by family, friends, colleagues, and generations of former players, a fitting tribute to a coach whose influence has extended far beyond the tennis court over the course of her remarkable career.

Congratulations to Jacob Lombard on being named the 2026 Miami Herald Miami-Dade 4A-1A Baseball Player of the Year!

One of the nation's top MLB Draft prospects, Jacob led the Raiders with a .477 batting average, 10 home runs, 25 RBI, and 52 runs scored while helping Gulliver advance to the Class 3A Regional Finals.

As he closes out an outstanding career at Gulliver, we are proud of all he has accomplished and excited to see where the game takes him next.

For the very first time, Gulliver introduced its new mascot, Gully the Raider, bringing a fresh wave of spirit and energy to Raider Nation this season. At graduation, one of the few identities behind the mask was dramatically revealed as senior Evan Gitlin, longtime boys basketball team member.

Thank you, Evan, for helping launch this new tradition and bringing Gully to life.

Make that a 4-Peat for Coach Carroll Vaughan!

Following a state championship season in 2024, Coach Vaughan guided a young Gulliver squad through one of the toughest schedules in the state and another challenging postseason run. The Raiders battled their way through the highly competitive Miami-Dade region and returned to the FHSAA Final Four!

During this Centennial year, our student-athletes added their own chapter to Gulliver Prep’s story, embodying the pride, tradition, and excellence that have defined our community for generations. Through their pursuit of excellence both academically and athletically, we celebrated championships, unforgettable moments, and the true meaning of what it means to be a Raider. Sophia Fernandes Kingston is your 2026 Miami Herald Water Polo Player of the Year!

Sophia wrapped up an incredible career at Gulliver Prep with a stellar senior season that included 107 goals, 68 steals, and 37 assists. A vital part of the Raiders’ success, she helped lead Gulliver to a state championship during her junior year while establishing herself as one of the top players in the state.
