I’m often asked when and why I started practicing yoga.

The truth is, I found yoga during a difficult season of life. It became a place where I could slow down, find a sense of ease, and process what was happening around me. Over time, it taught me to notice the fluctuations of my mind without immediately reacting to them.

What began as a personal practice became something much more. Yoga has helped me develop greater self-awareness, patience, and resilience. It has shaped how I lead, how I serve others, and how I navigate challenges.

Looking back, yoga didn’t remove life’s difficulties—it gave me the tools to move through them with a little more clarity, presence, and compassion. It has made me a better leader, a better Airman.

Three months. ✨

Just three months ago, we opened the doors to Beyond Yoga with a vision of creating a space where people could slow down, breathe deeply, move mindfully, and feel welcomed exactly as they are.

Over these past months, we have shared quiet moments, deep breaths, laughter, connection, community events, beginner first classes, restorative rest, meaningful conversations, and so many beautiful practices together. What is unfolding inside these walls is more than yoga classes — it is community.

To every person who has walked through our doors, supported a class, shared a post, brought a friend, left a review, or simply held belief in this space during the long journey to opening… thank you. Truly.

We are still growing, still learning, and still becoming, but we are incredibly grateful for what these first three months have already shown us:
people are longing for spaces where they can simply be.

What does it actually mean to “be mindful”… and how do you do it in real life?

In this 2-hour workshop, you’ll learn how to bring mindfulness into your daily routine, especially in moments of stress, overwhelm, or decision-making.

Mindfulness is not just about sitting still for hours. It’s about learning how to notice what’s happening in your body and thoughts, and responding with intention.

Together, we’ll explore:

• What mindfulness really is (and common misconceptions)
• How your brain and nervous system respond to stress
• Simple grounding techniques you can use anytime, anywhere
• How to stay present during difficult conversations and emotions
• Ways to build a sustainable mindfulness practice that fits your life

This workshop is interactive and experiential. You’ll leave with tools you can use immediately to feel more calm, clear, and in control of your energy.

No prior experience with mindfulness or meditation is needed.
