When I’m training a client, I’m not just watching if they can do the exercise—I’m watching how their body chooses to do it.

The body naturally wants to move toward the path of least resistance. If something feels difficult, tight, weak, or unfamiliar, we will often shift, rotate, shorten the movement, or recruit another muscle to make it easier.

That doesn’t always mean the exercise is wrong for you.

And just because something feels uncomfortable doesn’t automatically mean it’s bad.

Sometimes that discomfort is simply your body being asked to move in a way it has been avoiding.

This is where good coaching matters. We slow it down, adjust the position, improve the technique, and teach the body a better movement pattern instead of allowing it to keep finding the easiest way around the work.

There’s a difference between pain and discomfort.

Pain is something we pay attention to.

But controlled effort, muscle fatigue, stretching, shaking, and feeling challenged can all be part of learning how to move better.

The goal isn’t to make every exercise feel easy.

The goal is to teach your body how to do it correctly.

“Synergy is too expensive.”

But is it really… or is it about what we choose to prioritize?

$7–$10 at Starbucks a few times a week.
$15–$25 for fast food.
$50–$100+ going out for drinks.
Hundreds on entertainment, Botox, beauty treatments, subscriptions and other extras.
And now, for some people, hundreds every month on GLP-1 medications.

None of those things automatically make someone “wrong.” We all decide where our money goes.

But here’s the question:

What is your strength worth?
What is moving without pain worth?
What is having more energy worth?
What is protecting your muscle, balance, mobility and independence as you age worth?

People will often spend money trying to LOOK healthier before they invest in actually BECOMING stronger and healthier.

At Synergy, you’re not just paying for a workout.

You’re investing in coaching.
Education.
Accountability.
Strength.
Mobility.
Confidence.
And a body that can keep doing the things you love.

Your health is an expense until the day you realize it’s actually an investment.

Trying to get the perfect push-up? Start inclined.

A push-up from the floor isn’t the starting point for everyone—and forcing it too soon usually leads to poor form.

Start with your hands elevated on a bench, box, bar, or wall and focus on:

• Keeping your body in one straight line
• Controlling the lowering phase
• Keeping your elbows in a strong position
• Moving your chest toward your hands
• Pressing the floor away with control

As you get stronger, gradually lower the incline until you can perform a clean push-up from the floor.

Don’t rush the hardest version.

Master the movement first. Then progress the load.

A perfect inclined push-up is far more valuable than a sloppy floor push-up.

🏈 BUILDING STRONGER ATHLETES. BUILDING A STRONGER COMMUNITY. 💪

We’re excited to have the South Windsor Youth Football athletes training with us at Synergy!

Youth strength and conditioning is about so much more than just getting stronger. We’re teaching these athletes how to run, accelerate, change direction, move efficiently, and build confidence in their bodies — skills that carry directly onto the football field.

Speed. Strength. Agility. Coordination. Confidence.

The goal is to give these young athletes the foundation they need now so they can continue developing for years to come.

We love working with the next generation of South Windsor athletes and being part of their journey. 🏈🔥

Train with purpose. Move better. Get stronger. Perform when it matters.

When athletes feel the difference, THAT is what matters. 💨🔥

We love hearing testimonials about how much faster, stronger, and more confident our athletes feel after training at Synergy.

Our speed program isn’t about just running kids through drills. We teach athletes HOW to move—how to accelerate, change direction, create force, react faster, and become more efficient in their sport.

Speed can be trained.
Technique can be coached.
Confidence can be built.

And when athletes start seeing those improvements carry over onto the field, court, or ice… that’s the best testimonial we could ask for.

At Synergy, we’re not just trying to make athletes tired.

We’re trying to make them BETTER. ⚡️

One of my major training philosophies is simple:

Power comes from the ground up.

Just because we have a dumbbell, kettlebell, medicine ball, bat, racket, or any other piece of equipment in our hands doesn’t mean that’s where the power starts.

The hands are often just the end of the chain.

Real force starts with how we connect to the ground. It travels through the feet, legs, hips, core, shoulders, and finally into whatever we are holding.

That’s why I coach movement before I coach load.

Feet → legs → hips → core → upper body → hands.

When the body learns to produce and transfer force efficiently, everything becomes stronger, faster, and more athletic.

Don’t just move the weight.

Learn how to move the ground.
