Distance Days is just around the corner! Are you coming? There are rides for everyone from very short pleasure rides all the way to the iconic 90th 100 Mile Ride. Remember… everyone who participates at any level, volunteers or just come to cheer folks on is also helping to support this 90 year tradition. And you can enjoy being part of it all!

And don’t forget! The Vermont Horse Country Store will be hosting their traditional Corn Chowder Supper on Friday, September 4th from 4-7pm or until we run out of food! At the store right next door to GMHA. FREE and EVERYONE is welcome… riders, guests of riders, past riders, people who never ride but love the idea, people who live here and would just like to join us and even folks passing through wondering what’s going on:-)! Please come and enjoy the food and the company.

Horse enthusiasts are all too familiar with stories of family farms and equestrian facilities being swallowed up by suburban growth and development pressure. 🏢

While these trends continue to challenge agricultural communities across the country, landowners have powerful tools available to help protect their farms, pastures, and hay fields. 🚜🐴👩‍🌾

One of the most effective is a purchase of development rights (PDR) program, often implemented through agricultural conservation easements.

Celebrate the first weekend in August at GMHA ! Saturday August 1st, join in the fun as GMHA continues to celebrate 100 years of equestrian tradition, community and excellence. Saturday from 11-3 on grounds, share memories, reconnect with friends, enjoy live music, a catered lunch with games and a Hobby Horse Show! Saturday evening 5pm-8pm marks the return of the Twilight Ride with a word scramble on the trail! Sunday August 2nd offers a marked Pleasure Ride and Recreation Drive as well as an educational opportunity to join an AERC Endurance Riding clinic with experienced endurance riders and officials sharing their knowledge about this sport. Did you know that the GMHA Mud Ride is back?! And ECTRA sanctioned! (25/15/10 & 5 mile pleasure distances offered).Save the date: April 19th! Opening date of March 25th!
