Do forget….those who practice religiously, Wednesday is the golfer’s holy day of obligation.

Today’s golf game started under cloudy skies, hot, but bearable. It’s nice to get out even if it’s only to hear my bones cracking.

It’s a pleasure to let everyone know that all members of The PVC Golfers of Austin, who were present today, agreed to support the naming of the Pan Am Sports Complex after “Tony Castillo”. Any and all support in this effort is greatly appreciated. Please let the Austin Parks & Recreation Dept know you are supportive.

If you're ever at Jimmy Clay or Roy Kizer Golf Course on Wednesday mornings at about 7:30 - 8:00 am, come join our loosely knit group of aging golfers. If you don't know any member of the PVC's, that's okay. we welcome you to come out, say hello, and play a round of golf with us. Follow the scent of Bengay, you'll find us. We have a rule. #1, you must enjoy golf and enjoy the company of a bunch of old geezers who still love golf.

Mr. TC reports that we had 28 players on Wednesday. Winners were John Mercado, Felix Varela, Eddie Guerra, and Vincent Arriaga. Each of them won in their respective (tongue in cheek) flight. The 4 closest to the pin winners were Cande Mejia, John Mercado, Mario Acosta, and Jesse Martinez. The rest of the gang, as Tony Castillo always says "were losers". Better luck on Wednesday the 13th. As always, it's a bunch of fun.

This is a loosely knit group of golfers who came together to enjoy one another and to play golf with very few rules. Actually, if you ask many of the members, they will tell you that the First Rule is that we have no rules, so to speak. We are not categorized by age but rather by your golf handicap, which in many instances fluctuates according to the inclement weather that we've had lately. Although Age does not give one special ranking or respect, it does come with some special "perks". As we age, the "perks" become more plentiful.
