Southington Knights Travel Football & Cheer

At the Southington Knights Youth Football and Cheer, we are incredibly proud of our participants both on and off the field. With that in mind, we are excited to introduce a new initiative called 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗞𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁, where we highlight the outstanding positive impacts our participants are making in our town.

Today, we are shining the spotlight on Gavin Formeister. Gavin and his family have been deeply involved with the Southington Knights for many years. Currently, Gavin serves as a youth referee for our spring flag program. He has always been there to step up and help our league whenever needed, and now, we have a wonderful opportunity to be there to help him.

Gavin is currently working on his Eagle Scout project, which is dedicated to helping and beautifying our local community. His project focuses on the 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴, where he will be removing a dilapidated fence and replacing it with a beautiful, natural "green fence" made out of trees.

To help fund and support this project, Gavin is conducting a 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲, and we are making it easy for our Knights families to contribute:

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻: Sunday, June 14th, between 7:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲: Southington High School, during our spring flag football event.
𝗛𝗼𝘄: You can drop off your returnable cans and bottles in the designated drop-off area right next to the concession stand.

If you do not have any bottles or cans to donate but would still like to support Gavin's project monetarily, please review the attached flyer for details on how you can contribute.

Let’s all come together as a Knights family to support Gavin and help beautify Southington!

𝟭. 𝗧𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 (𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝟮–𝟴)

Join us for an exciting, high-paced season of tackle football! Learn teamwork and sportsmanship while experiencing the thrill of competing in the premier Shoreline Youth Football Conference. We follow a strict 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲-𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱, 𝗔𝗴𝗲-𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 model to ensure every player competes in a safe and fair setting.

𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: 2nd & 3rd Grade (79ers), 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade.

𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀: Developing chemistry and skills alongside classmates to prepare for high school football.

𝟮. 𝗙𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗙𝗹𝗮𝗴 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 (𝗣𝗿𝗲-𝗞 – 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝟴)

Experience the fun and fast-paced action of Knights Flag Football! We offer a high-energy environment for every age group, providing a pathway from first-time players to experienced athletes looking for focused competition.

𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗹𝗮𝗴 (𝗣𝗿𝗲-𝗞 & 𝗞): Saturday morning sessions focused on fun and basics.

𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝟴𝘃𝟴 𝗙𝗹𝗮𝗴 (𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝟭–𝟯): Designed to teach full football skills and prepare players for the transition to tackle.

𝗢𝗹𝘆𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗰 𝟱𝘃𝟱 𝗙𝗹𝗮𝗴 (𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝟯–𝟴):
3rd–5th Grade Coed
6th–8th Grade Girls division
6th–8th Grade Boys division (NEW for this Fall!)

𝟯. 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝘀

We offer three tiers of cheerleading based on grade level and desired commitment:

𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗲𝗿 (𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝗞–𝟭): A 6-week introductory program held Saturday mornings starting in September.

𝗦𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗲𝗿 (𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝟮–𝟴): Practices begin July 27th (Mon/Wed). 2nd graders cheer at Saturday flag games, while grades 3–8 cheer at Sunday tackle games.

𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗲𝗿 (𝗔𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝟴–𝟭𝟰): A major commitment beginning July 1st. This team cheers at all games and competes at Local, State, and potentially Regional/National levels.
