Not sports related but school related… Sergeant Usher does a lot for our school and our community.

Sergeant Usher had the honor of accepting the Show Me Zero award for the Southwest Region today at the 2026 Highway Safety and Traffic Conference in Columbia, MO. This award was presented by Missouri Department of Transportation.
Sparta School Resource Officer, Sergeant Usher has been a champion within her community, working to increase seat belt usage among Sparta High School students from 58% in 2022 to 97% in 2024. SRO Usher has also engaged with the Sparta community by promoting highway safety messages at National Night Out events and speaking with local media to reinforce these critical safety messages. SRO Usher is also the TRACTION Advisor for the TRACTION students. Collectively, they have made a real change in their community through education and engineering efforts.

Sparta High School has been recognized as one of the best schools in the area, ranking #8 in the Springfield metro! 🏆

We are incredibly proud of our students and teachers for this awesome accomplishment! This recognition is a reflection of the hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence happening every day at SHS.

We are a team of driven educators who are never satisfied with “good enough.” We will continue to reflect, grow, and strive to improve our practice so we can provide the very best opportunities for our students.

Good luck to our State Track participants competing today at the MSHSAA Class 2 State Track Meet!

For the first time in school history, Sparta is sending sprint relay teams to the state meet! The Trojans will compete in the Boys 4x400, 4x200, and 4x100 relays, along with the Girls 4x200 and 4x100 relays.

Trey Robinson will also compete in the 200-meter dash!

We loved sending everyone off to Jefferson City yesterday and couldn’t be more proud of this group. Best of luck as you represent Sparta on the state stage!
