BUCKET LIST STORY...
When Sparta's Gabrielle Bjorkman won three state gymnastics titles in March of 2026, I couldn't devote the time to craft a story appropriate to the accomplishment. That time of the year is pretty bonkers in my world with multiple postseasons happening at once. I ran a photo of the elite competitor in the paper and carefully selected my words about WHEN the real story would come.

Well, after delays in interviews, other sports and life punching out hours of the week, this story fell through the cracks, though it was never off my mind. Finally, as my time at the newspaper grew shorter, I knew I had limited time to knock this out. My last issue, somewhere between 1-4AM before my last deadline, we scrawled out this very, very important part of Sparta history.

I wanted to treat this story with the respect it deserved and am very happy it was part of my last sports section for the MCH. This is a feat that will never happen again in the Coulee Region.

Apologies for the delay, though, I hope it was worth the wait.

The last two open gyms of the summer have snuck up on us .. tonight and Wednesday will be our last ones until season starts in November!!
• 7/27 ~ 5:30pm-8pm | 7/29 ~ 10am-1pm

If you aren’t able to make it but still want to be apart of our amazing team this coming season we would love for you to join! We all know summer can be a crazy time but don’t hesitate to reach out on any of our platforms for any questions you may have :)

I hope everyone enjoyed their 4th of July weekend!! With the 250th celebration coming to an end I just want to remind every one of the upcoming open gym dates and times. We had so much fun getting back in the grove and learning new skills at our first one and want to keep it going!! 🎆🤸‍♀️

Summer time has hit us .. which means open gyms start soon!! If you’re already apart of our team or just want to test the waters and try it out, make your way to one of our open gyms this summer!! Be looking forward to laughter and fun🤸‍♀️😁

What an unbelievable day!! WIAA State Individuals was one to remember !!! Gabrielle Bjorkman and Ali Solberg showed up and showed out, that’s for sure :))

Ali Solberg had her state debut today as a junior on our team. she competed in vault and bars. She took home 12th on bars and 18th on vault. Can’t wait to see what becomes of next year!

Gabrielle Bjorkman became a three time state champion today!!!! She’s taken 4 consecutive state trips throughout her high school career, so proud of this girl! Today she took home first in All Around , floor , and bars and third on beam and fifth on vault!

What a truly amazing experience for these spartans today!!! The team took home 7th in the D2 WIAA State Championship! We are so proud of these ladies 🤸‍♀️❤️
We want to give a huge shout out to our seniors. Their hard work and dedication from the last few years truly showed on the floor today. We are all proud of each and every one of you and so thankful you were a part of our team!
