Skatepark closed today (12/16) for maintenance. Will reopen around 5pm.

Hot Spot Skatepark Day was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who came out and participated in the event/skate contests and enjoyed all the freebies our partners contributed.

It takes a village to put on events and maintain our parks and the City of Spartanburg Parks, Recreation & Special Events is extremely thankful for our partners including the Coalition For Active Youth, HotSpot Convenience Stores, the Friends of the Skateparks Foundation, Daville Skate Shop, Disorder Skateboards, Terry Grimble, Kwesi Holloway, and of course our skaters who always show up to support!

Congratulations to Dawson who was the raffle winner for a brand new skateboard! He is pictured with our friends from the Coalition for Active Youth, who play a huge part in keeping the skatepark updated, which includes the latest upgrade of the concrete skate bowl. Thank you for everyone’s donations to CAY, every penny helps us maintain the skatepark features!

Hot Spot Skatepark Day - October 18th
Hot Spot Skatepark Day was officially given to Hot Spot Skatepark by the mayor of Spartanburg in 2009 when we opened the park. A lot of skating has been going down in the last 16 years and we are grateful for the opportunity to exercise in the free outdoor park and chance to build community and connect with others who appreciate skateboarding. This year we are fortunate to have Terry Grimble with Friends of the Skatepark/Daville to put on the event. He is bringing Kwesi Holliday who has the opening scene in the latest and greatest skate Disorder's Distress video.

Schedule of Events:
2-3pm
Warm ups / skate with Kwesi
3-5pm
Best tricks obstacle 1
Best tricks obstacle 2
Best tricks obstacle
5-6pm
Open skate, sandwiches and drinks provided by Parks and Recreation

Obstacles 1,2, & 3 can be
1. Something small / easier
2. Big stair set / handrail
3. Bowl
Open to all skill levels & ages.

Beginners - land a trick, even a simple one, there’s a good chance to win a prize or a dollar or $2.

Free shirts, snacks, and drinks, with pizza at 5:45pm. Contests with prizes from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. Skatepark open tonight until 10:00pm.

Mark your calendars for Go Skate Day on June 20th at Hot Spot Skatepark! 🛹

Free shirts, pizza, and drinks provided by the City of Spartanburg’s Parks and Rec Department and the Coalition for Active Youth from 6-7pm. Contests and prizes by Companion Skate and Hot Spot from 6-8pm. Skate for an hour longer with the park staying open until 10pm!
