Dear fans, friends, and family,
It is with a heavy heart that we make this post today. As many of you know, the Deadly Dolls have faced many hardships over the last few years, including covid, losing our practice space, and losing our beloved coach Hisker, A.K.A. Johnny Frisk-Her. After much effort, we have not been able to secure a practice location that will suit our needs. So at this time we have decided to retire the Deadly Dolls and USCRD teams.
We are extremely grateful for all the support and love we have received from you over the years, and we wish you all the best. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping to bring this amazing sport to so many lives. We couldn't have done it without you!
While this may be the end of the Spartanburg Deadly Dolls and Upstate South Carolina Roller Derby (USCRD) it is certainly not the end of roller derby. We hope all of you will continue to enjoy the chaos and excitement that is derby… and you may even spot a few Dolls joining up with some of our sister teams. So be sure to check out all your local games and cheer loud for everyone!
With all our love,
The Deadly Dolls

Today we have lost a Coach, a Mentor, and our friend, John "Johnny FriskHer" Hisker. To say we are devastated is an understatement. John was the Head Coach for the Spartanburg Deadly Dolls, the South Carolina Atom Bombs, and the Hub City Hooligans. John also played as a blocker for the Atom Bombs, but Referee stripes were more his style. John created the Update South Carolina Roller Derby league in the hopes to join the Upstate derby community; a goal that has been progressed steadily since it's formation.
John always closed our practices with the team motto, "One Team, One Family". Today, we feel this more than ever.
Arrangements are being made and will be shared as they become available. Please keep his family and our teams in your hearts.
