Reverse That Fan, Baby! Your ceiling fan should spin counterclockwise in summer. It’s not just for style points—it actually pushes cool air down where you need it.

𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘇𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗖𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀. (Okay, not literally.) Use blackout curtains to block sun like a pro. Bonus: dark curtains = dramatic flair.

𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗔/𝗖 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝗶𝗹—regularly, even if you "don’t feel like it.” Dirty filters = your A/C working overtime and you footing the bill.

Before you hit the road for your summer adventure, make sure your home is ready for your time away. Here’s a quick top 10 checklist to help you protect your property and return to peace of mind:

✅ 1. 𝘼𝙙𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙢𝙤𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙩 – Set it a few degrees higher (or lower) to save energy while you’re gone.
✅ 2. 𝙋𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙈𝙖𝙞𝙡 & 𝙋𝙖𝙘𝙠𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙨 – A full mailbox is a welcome sign… for the wrong people. Put mail on hold or ask a neighbor to collect it.

Level 3 (Go Now!) Evacuations ordered for Keeney Fire in Spokane County

SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — Some residents near Keeney Road in Spokane County are being ordered to evacuate immediately as crews battle the Keeney Fire, a 4-acre wildland blaze burning in Spokane Fire District 3. Authorities issued a Level 3 “Go Now!” evacuation order Friday for people living between the 12400 and 13700 blocks of South Keeney Road, as well as those on Diamond Lane, Mindrup Meadows Lane, and in the James Slavin Recreational Area.
