Sunday practice.

To sit or not to sit?

Generally speaking, we utilize four seats on course, with an infinite degree of variations in between. Ideally, one strives to master all seats. It's crucial to develop proper balance in the stirrups and a solid foundation in the tack, which leads to the all important ability to be tactfully effective.

In this lesson, I’ll discuss the variety of seats we utilize and where they apply on course in the jumping disciplines. Watch Building Blocks to a Great Position (part 5): https://equestriancoach.com/courses/building-blocks-great-position-part-5-sit-or-not-sit/

While I wasn’t there, in the 1970’s to witness Charlie Weaver and Stocking Stuffer, the moment I saw the grandstand and iconic natural jumps, I knew it was Upperville after experiencing this oldest horse show in America myself first hand. More reasons to count blessings.

Did you ever want a Hunter for Christmas? Take a look back at National Show Hunter Hall of Famer Stocking Stuffer (a Thoroughbred by Double Warrant out of Christmastime), one of the most beautiful and tough-to-beat Regular Conformation Hunters of the 1970s, here with Charlie Weaver at Upperville. Stocking Stuffer won Horse of the Year titles as well as championships at Devon, the National, and many other major shows with Charlie, Ira Zimmerman, Liz Young, and amateur-owner Peter Busch.
