💥Old habits do die hard. One great way to get rid of them is to replace them with something NEW. What’s one habit you can replace?
Does change make you uncomfortable … or do get excited by it? 💫
🌸🌷🌻For all our amazing moms out there – THANK YOU for all that you do. We wouldn’t be here without you ❤️
The more comfortable you get … the harder and harder it is to break out of. Doing anything today to get you out of your comfort zone? 👊
The other day I saw a past client at the grocery store. She is a great person – always makes me smile!
But as soon as she saw me… I noticed she looked a little guilty.
“I keep meaning to get back in to see you, but honestly I’ve been too tired to even think about it,” she told me.
Guess what? I totally get it.
When we get stressed … bogged down at work … overwhelmed … or even sidetracked by lousy weather … it can set us up to feel like everything is just too much work.
Even our own self-care.
But I’m going to tell you something you already know, deep down.
Once you get (re)started, you’re going to feel so good – that you’ll wonder why you waited so long.
There’s nothing more energizing than GETTING STARTED.
Because you realize it’s not the big deal you’d built it up to be in your head … you feel proud of yourself for taking action … and you get excited about all the possibilities!
That momentum propels you forward until you start noticing all those amazing physical benefits
Are you ready to get back in the game? Or have you recently done something for your health? Post below and let me know! ⬇️⬇️⬇️

❓Could my nightly glass of wine be making me tired the next day?
In a word: yes!
1. Alcohol might help you feel relaxed at night, and even make you feel drowsy. But it can interfere with a good night of sleep.
2. Hours after you drink it, alcohol can raise the levels of stress hormones in your body, boosting your heart rate and revving up your body, making you wake up.
3. Drinking alcohol can also contribute to sleep apnea and other breathing problems by making your throat muscles more relaxed when you sleep … plus, it can make you have to get up to go to the bathroom during the night.
Just a little FYI to help you make more informed decisions in the future! 🍷

❓MYTH OR FACT ❓
🤔 Coffee will give me energy.
🙈
.
🙉
.
🙊
🔥YES … BUT IT CAN MAKE YOU TIRED LATER.🔥
Here are 3 reasons why:
👉Reason 1: Caffeine blocks a chemical that regulates your sleep-wake cycle.
Your body keeps making this chemical (adenosine) even though your brain can’t receive it.
Once the caffeine wears off, you can have a buildup of adenosine, which can make you feel tired.
👉Reason 2: It can make you dehydrated.
Being even a little dehydrated (1%-3%) can make you feel tired.
If you drink caffeine-rich drinks, make sure you also drink water to replenish your fluids.
👉Reason 3: The sugar you add to your coffee can raise your blood sugar levels.
If you add sugar to your coffee, it can quickly raise your blood sugar level.
This can lead to a sugar "crash" because your body processes sugar much faster than it does caffeine.

❓Which should I do first: strength training exercises or cardio?
💪🏻🏃♂️This is a hot fitness topic and the answer depends on a few different things, but the quick response is …
STRENGTH TRAINING.
💪🏻That’s because strength training requires more anaerobic effort – aka quick, powerful bursts of energy.
Doing strength training first means you’ll have more energy to perform them properly and safely… giving you better results from your efforts.
🏃♂️Cardio, meanwhile, requires more aerobic effort – aka moderate, sustained energy, that isn’t as taxing on your system.
But the real-life answer comes down to your goals & personal preference.
👉If you like doing cardio first, then that’s A-OK. Do it first. The most important thing is that you actually WORK OUT!

❓MYTH OR FACT ❓
🤔Chocolate milk is a great post-workout recovery drink.

🔥FACT 🔥
You’re welcome! :-)
Low-fat chocolate milk has long been recommended as a simple (and delicious!) source of the nutrients that can help your body recover from workouts.
The caveat: it has to be dairy milk, which appears to have the optimal ratio of protein vs. carbs to help your body optimize recovery.
A review of various studies into chocolate milk’s effect on workout recovery found that it had “either similar or superior results when compared to placebo or other recovery drinks.”
Plus, it tastes great! NOTE: for most people, 1 cup (240 ml) is plenty.

❓MYTH OR FACT ❓
🤔 I should stretch before I work out.
🙈

🙊
🔥MYTH 🔥
Before your workout, the best warmup includes foam rolling your muscles to help loosen up tight spots and doing DYNAMIC movements – aka “moving” exercises.
👉These are exercises like squats, arm circles, leg swings, lunges, or mimicking the exercises you will do during your workout with little to no resistance.
Stretching “cold” muscles before your workout can actually set you up for injury. Save the static stretches for after your exercise session, when your muscles are warm and more pliable!
✅BONUS: The stretches will actually feel better after your workout!
Do you make time for stretching after your workout? ⬇️⬇️⬇️
