A BIT OF HISTORY AND LEGEND OF THE GREY GHOST—
Oaklawn Mansion was built by the Rev. Absalom Thompson in 1835.
During the Civil War, Conf. Gen. John Bell Hood used the home as a headquarters in 1964…some say his ghost still roams the property.
Oaklawn was owned by several families including George Jones and Tammy Wynette and in 1999, was purchased by Ron Shuff of Shuff’s Music and Piano Showroom in 1978. He has also served as the director of fine arts and music at Brentwood Academy and music director of the First United Methodist Church.

Many thanks to Mr. Shuff and Mr. Campbell for allowing us to hold our event on their property for the past 17 years!
