A-1 Hockey Repairs

How many times do I have to tell you, if you want to be a goalie, wear your mask!

This equipment needed a turn up and some prevented maintenance, (PT.1). Catcher glove: cleaned, relaced outer perimeter, replace velcro on all straps and on wrist cuff. Blocker: cleaned, patched over skate cut, new velcro & elastic, new palm. Chest & Arm: replaced all elastic for arms and velcro on the wrist. Pads: Before> needed new elastic straps with velcro, outside knee slider starting to open, (you can see the repair in the last pic.), knee cradle & skate channel are worn, just a matter of time before they open, also needed bottom strap, velcro for toe ties, and a new edge cover on bottom of pad, (not pic. in before but is in after, second to last pic.). After> cleaned, new elastic straps & velcro, new bottom strap & new velcro on toe ties, cover over knee cradle & skate channel, recover bottom of pad edge, repair outside knee slide.

Over the years a lot of equipment has past throw my hands, and on occasion I get clean and none hockey smelling equipment. I like to take this time to thank these two goalies, the goalie with the CCM equipment (blocker not shown) and the goalie with the Reebok/ Vaughn equipment. They both play a few nights a week, the CCMs have over a year of play to them, but the Rebk's / Vghn's have a lot of game to them, about 5 years of play, "BUT" for the age of both sets, 1year old or 5 years old the equipment is very clean, well taken care of, with no hockey smell, I tip my mask to you goalies, thank you.

Deja vu - Pic1 - The white & blue Bauer goalie pad - I posted them a few weeks ago, about a father & son new to the sport, and they bought used equipment that needed some TLC. ... These pads first come to me back in January 2022 (posted Feb. 22) with a very similar story, father & son that bought used equipment that needed repairs. ... Pics 2 & 3 are of the pads before & after of the 1st repair, I replaced all the straps with elastic & Velcro. ... Pics 4 & 5 are of the pads before & after the 2nd time, I replaced all the elastic & Velcro with straps & buckles.

Re-palmed

This father and son are new to the sport and the son wants to be a goalie, the father did the smart thing and bought a full set of used equipment for little cost, (plus two chest protectors), some of the equipment needed a little TLC to get him started in goal. ... A bag, A pair of goalie pants, ice hockey catcher/blocker/pads and a pair of ball hockey pads and glove, the rest of the equipment did not need any repairs.

Replaced the elastic straps & Velcro with webbing straps & buckles, patch over a hole in knee pad, and the holes on the sides of the pads, replace the worn out bottom edging.

Relaced one side of the glove and the pinky finger strap was pulled out, it's all good now.

Relaced the perimeter of glove and added foam padding to the hand/slash guard.
