Yep. I agree with her completely.
While I ALSO do believe that women's bodies are built for pregnancy and birth, our environment does not create enough opportunities and challenges to help prepare for such a physiological event.
You train for a 5K--you REALLY train for a marathon. And birth is more like the latter. Practicing breath, hip strength and mobility, and nervous system awareness are all part of what it takes to support physiological birth.
In fact, these practices are helpful in postpartum recovery for every type of birth AND EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT PREGNANT AND NEVER PLAN TO BE!! Because everyone needs to move our hips more, breathe better, and learn how to calm the f down sometimes!!
