🦃 ACC TURKEY TROT UPDATE + VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

We’re officially getting closer to the 2026 ACC Turkey Trot 5K & Fun Run, and I want to start with a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has already registered, signed up to volunteer, contributed prizes, or reached out to help. We already have some great people and businesses getting involved, and we’re so appreciative of the support!

As we head into October, one of our biggest needs is VOLUNTEERS! 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️

It takes quite a few people behind the scenes to make race morning run smoothly, and there are plenty of ways to help. We’ll need volunteers for things like:

> Event setup
> Course and road monitoring
> Registration/check-in
> Start and finish line help
> Refreshments
> Cleanup
> General race-day help wherever needed

Students are welcome and encouraged to volunteer! If you need documentation of volunteer or community service hours for school, an organization, application, or other requirement, volunteer certificates can be provided by the DAVID N LEVINSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND / ACC Turkey Trot.

Right now, we’re simply building our volunteer list. You do not need to know exactly what position you want or commit to a specific assignment yet. We’ll follow up with roles, times, and additional information as we get closer to Thanksgiving.

🏆 LOCAL BUSINESSES
We’re also continuing to collect contributions for our Top 3 Female and Top 3 Male finishers!

Our local businesses were incredibly generous last year, contributing gift cards, coupons, products, services, and other prizes, and we’re excited to showcase our community businesses again this year.

If you own or represent a local business and would like to contribute a prize, you’re welcome to include business cards or information about your business as well.

Save the date, Ascend family! 💚

We’re hosting an Ascend Client Appreciation Night on Saturday, August 29 at 6:00 p.m. We have so much to celebrate!

We’ll be celebrating the incredible community we’ve built, giving Stacia and Kim/Skye a proper send-off as they move on to new locations, and celebrating Kelli with a baby shower.

Earlier that morning, anyone interested and available is invited to join our “group moving workout” at Kim’s house as we help load her moving truck. 😂💪

One of my favorite community traditions each year is being part of the ACC Turkey Trot and the David N. Levinson Memorial Scholarship Fund.

What makes it even more special is that many of my Ascend clients show up year after year to run, walk, volunteer, and support a cause that directly benefits local students in our community.

This year, we'll be hosting informational tables at two upcoming events:

Thanks to the support of this incredible community, $9,000 in scholarships was awarded to local students in 2026. Every race registration, donation, sponsorship, and volunteer helps make opportunities like these possible.

Very excited to kick off the Ascend Community Clothing Exchange! 💛

Throughout June, we'll be collecting gently used workout clothing, athletic shoes, and fitness accessories right here at Ascend.

Have items you no longer wear? Bring them in. Looking for something new-to-you? Feel free to browse donated items throughout the month as well.

This project will lead into a community wellness event in late July featuring:
☕ Local Coffee Truck
💪 A donation-based community workout
🛍️ Local women-owned vendors

All proceeds from the workout and remaining clothing donations will be donated to the local women's shelter.

Donations can be dropped off anytime throughout June at Ascend Training & Wellness.

Good morning everyone 💛

Taking a moment today to acknowledge the meaning behind Memorial Day and the men and women who lost their lives in service, along with the families who continue carrying that loss 🇺🇸

All sessions are still running as scheduled today:
11:30 AM + 6:30 PM Weightlifting
7:30 PM Mobility

Also, tonight’s evening class and mobility session are open complimentary to any past clients wanting to come back in for a workout or anyone new who has been wanting to try a class out and see what Ascend is about.

No pressure. Just a chance to move your body, clear your head a little, and start the week feeling better.

Mother’s Day was yesterday, and it’s had me thinking a lot about how often we as women spend years taking care of everyone else while slowly disconnecting from our own bodies in the process.

Not always dramatically. Sometimes it just looks like constantly pushing through exhaustion, tension, stress, overstimulation, poor recovery, or never fully slowing down long enough to notice how disconnected you’ve started to feel physically.

So I wanted to share something healing and easy to follow.

I created a free guide called *The Ascend Morning Reset* - a gentle 20-minute mobility and breathwork routine designed to help reduce tension, improve mobility, support recovery, and create a slower, more grounded start to the day.

This guide is based on my personal morning ritual and daily mobility flow.

Inside are movements like:
• supine breathing
• qigong shakes
• lymphatic tapping
• spinal and hip mobility
• gentle nervous system support

No equipment needed.
No experience required.
Just a mat, twenty minutes, and the intention to slow down a little.

• Most classes are part of a structured program or ongoing membership, so we build consistency and maintainable results over time
• A confirmed sign-up is required so I can make sure everyone is included in communication and planning
• Active group members receive all updates, scheduling, and details directly from me
• Drop-ins can be arranged with prior notice and space allowing

My goal with every group is to create a space that’s supportive, intentional, focused, and fun. Where every woman can feel comfortable, welcomed, and motivated.
