Some of you may know, some of you may not. We don’t necessarily follow points standings that closely, so it wasn’t until a little more than a week ago that we realized we were leading the points race at Port Royal by a very small margin of 5 points over our buddies Jaxton Garman Racing. Naturally, we want to win, but how great was it to be sitting at the top with our buddy Jaxton Garman right behind us.
Going into last night’s race, we honestly felt like we couldn’t lose no matter the outcome. It would have been great to take the track championship back to Worleytown on the Worleytown Express, but the thought of Jax doing the same brought smiles all around.
We looked good enough in our heat race but suffered a part failure early in the feature after starting in the number 3 spot. Not gonna lie—what a downer. But we quickly turned our attention to what was about to go down, and that was TRW Race Cars going 1 and 2 at the top of the championship tally.
What can’t be ignored is all the time and work that go into keeping these cars going. But it’s also keeping the dream alive. We have come to know another family with multiple generations of racers just like our family. They love racing and are driven by the same things that drive our racing family. To come in at number 2 behind them in points in a very close race and have them in a TRW Race Car to boot, well we will take it.
