The girls went out to Brenham to compete in the Usssa Super Select Regional this weekend. We spent the weekend shaking off a lot of rust, but per the usual we continue to go deep on Sunday. Every game this weekend was earned against some of the toughest teams in the Houston area. A hard fought second place is something that we don’t plan for, but in our failures and losses we continue to find growth. Congratulations to Kryptonite on a well deserved championship!

It’s been 5 weekends since we last took the field in 10U, but the wait is over. The girls are geared back up and ready to roll.

A tough 10U schedule is ahead of us the rest of the summer, and it all kicks off this weekend. Time to shake off some rust, compete, and get better every inning.

Let’s get after it! Hotshots Fastpitch

The little things matter here. These ladies wear matching practice gear, they wear matching colored cleats, they warm up in unison. They have a routine that they religiously stick to. It is THE standard. WE ARE A UNIT.

Some of you out there will say it doesn’t matter, but it ALL matters. It ALL makes a difference.
We are disciplined, structured, and operate as a team in everything that we do.

And we win, a lot.

Back in Sugar Land this weekend for the Angels for Autism Tournament 💙🧩

Playing up in 12U Open again, continuing to challenge ourselves and compete against older teams to see where we stand and what we need to sharpen for the next level.

This weekend means more than just softball. It’s about playing for a purpose, raising awareness, and supporting an incredible cause that impacts so many families.

The girls are ready to compete, represent, and leave it all on the field.

Let’s have a weekend full of heart, hustle, and growth. 🥎

Happy 11th Birthday to our spark plug, Jenny! ⚡️🥳
The energy, the hustle, the fire—you bring it every single time you step on the field. Keep playing fast, fearless, and full of passion. We’re lucky to have you leading the charge!

Don't try to bottle up a competitor.

Most, if not all of our 10/11 year-olds sit in the car after a loss and struggle to let it go... replaying every moment, pi**ed off, heart on their sleeves like it actually matters. And you know what? Good. That fire isn't a problem-it's the whole damn point.
Somewhere along the way, especially with girls, we start trying to soften that edge. "Relax." "It's just a game." "Don't be too emotional." Nah. That's how you kill something special. That competitiveness? That raw, unapologetic give-a-damn? That's what separates the ones who play from the ones who change the game.
You can't teach that kind of fire. You can only protect it. Guide it. Sharpen it.
So don't dim it because it makes people uncomfortable. Don't coach it out because it's "too much." Too much for who? The ones who don't have it?
Let them FEEL it. Let them be pi**ed. Let them care.
Because the kid who hates losing like that... is the one who's gonna figure out how to win.
Don't strip it.
Keep that sh*t lit. 🔥

We didn’t want to let the cat out of the bag but we have no choice. The Hotshots are officially transitioning into the first all-girls 10u baseball team from here on out ⚾️⚾️. While we’re in the process of making this transition our girls have some questions we were hoping that some current and former baseball players can answer.

⚾️ Why is the pitching so slow and how can we learn to wait on it?

⚾️Is it required to wear elbow, shin, foot AND hand protection every at bat? The slappers are concerned it will slow them down on the way to 1st

⚾️How do you guys get outs if we’re allowed to lead off before the pitch is delivered? The girls are worried with that unfair advantage that they would just steal bases at will.

⚾️Is it required that we cry and throw our stuff after every strikeout?

If you can’t tell, we LOVE Danielle Lawrie around here. She stays hittin’ with the hard facts.

Everybody loves the grind... until it actually feels like a grind. It's fun when you're hitting barrels, making plays, feeling confident as hell. But what about when it's not? When you're 0-for. When you boot one. When you're riding the bench.
When nothing feels right and you start questioning everything. That's the part nobody glamorizes. Being level-headed isn't about staying cool when it's easy... it's about not falling apart when it's not.
The players who last in this game? They don't ride every emotion. They don't think they're the best when it's good and they don't think they suck when it's bad. They stay right in the middle.
Play. The. Next. Play.
And let's be real about teammates... not everyone is going to be your person. Not everyone is going to hype you up or understand you. Some teammates are loud. Some are intense. Some will push you. Some will p**s you off. Good. You don't grow in comfort. You grow in that tension.
Championship teams aren't built on everyone getting along perfectly-they're built on standards, accountability, and showing up for each other when it's hard.
Because it WILL get hard. Slumps. Errors.
Pressure. Weird energy. Adversity out of nowhere.
And in those moments... can you stay steady?
Can you control your response? Can you keep showing up when it's ugly?
That's the difference. Not talent. Not hype. Not who's hot right now. It's who can handle the chaos, stay grounded, and keep competing no matter what shows up that day. That's the real grind. Thats who separates.

The girls played hard this weekend. If you know anything about our method as coaches you know we don’t mess around in C class, we believe in challenging these girls and pushing their limits and this weekend we did just that in 12u open. We went 5-1, surprised some teams and ended up tied for 5th out of 15. We’re hard on our girls, and our girls are hard on themselves and we don’t necessarily like losing, but we constantly look for growth and development in our losses. Forever proud of this group, they’re the toughest 4th and 5th graders that we know.

We challenged these girls to perform in 12u open this weekend and they came out strong today. Pitchers were hitting their spots and the hitting was great. Let’s come out strong tomorrow!
